THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO KEEP ON READING ALL YEAR ROUND! I love seeing my students accomplish the goals they set for themselves. Summertime can be a way to catch up or even grow a whole grade level in reading ability. Learning new words can be a fun challenge. I love word games and puzzles that reward such accomplishments. Even spelling can be fun when we look at the history of a word to help us remember which way to say or spell it. I will work with parents and teachers with the curriculum you prefer or focus with my own lessons on particular problems. Meeting people from all over the world is exciting and challenging when we work together for them to learn English. Lessons can be tailored to exactly for the purpose someone has to learn English. We can study together online no matter where a student lives. I just can't quit teaching, even after 60 years! Teaching reading and English is my love, so I was a classroom teacher, a school librarian for 20 years and a community librarian after that. I attended the University of Texas in Austin and at what is now A & M University in Kingsville and have a bachelor's and master's degree in English and Education. I still love to learn. My other master's degree is an MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary. I can work with home school curriculum if desired. Let's have an interview and a practice lesson to see if we are a good fit!
