My name is Karen and I have been crocheting for the past 58 yrs. and knitting for the past 27 yrs. I am currently a Certified Knitting and Crochet instructor from The Yarn Council of America. I was certified in the year 2000. I have taught in Michael's Arts and Craft store, JoAnn Fabric, Community College of Baltimore County. Baltimore county (Adult enrichment Program) and the Police Athletic Program. Karen has been a delight to work with on my beginner Crochet lessons. She is patient and encouraging. When I get frustrated with my errors, Karen knows how to help me understand ways to correct my mistakes. I enjoy crochet more and more and would like to continue lessons with Karen.

Karen is a meticulous teacher. She explains lessons in an accessible manner and gives you hands on experience under her direction. She takes time to ensure the student's understanding and proficiency before progressing. She is patient and kind. She was extremely flexible in scheduling our lessons. I learned to crochet and the basics of getting started, how to read patterns, supplies needed and much more. I love that I am now proficient at my new hobby thanks to such a wonderful teacher. AWESOME I so enjoy working with Karen! In advance of today’s lesson, we coordinated re work on a summer shawl Project. We both thought a summer shawl addressing those summer air conditioned restaurants was a good project for folks like me that travel a bunch and need take along projects. With Karen’s guidance in mind, I bought gthe yarn. Then Karen showed me 6-9 different shawls she’s made so I could pick target shawl pattern that wasn’t above my ability and appealed to me. I’m now on my way; 3+Rows in and feeling confident of noteworthy progress til next session.
