French with Jennifer S.

I've known Jennifer for many years, and I can honestly say that she is one of the most passionate, enthusiastic, and creative individuals I've ever met. These qualities make her an excellent teacher who is able to make learning a joy for her students. To take one example, I remember that she once had the students in her Spanish class write a poem describing the magic of an item of clothing they were wearing based on the song "Tengo la camisa negra". The students had so much fun with it, and learned a lot in the process. I'm sure that Jennifer will bring this same sort of creative energy and dedication to any student that she teaches. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

I recently had the privilege of witnessing Jennifer share her passion for teaching Spanish with her high school students in Oakland. The lesson she offered was extremely FUN, lively and very engaging. The warmth and welcome she exuded towards her students was obvious from the moment she greeted them at the door. Throughout the lesson they explored existing Spanish songs and used their creativity and their own skill in the language to explore new lyrics. It was evident that Jennifer met each of them at the level they were at as well as pushing them the right amount to keep expanding their knowledge of the language. I highly recommend this teacher and am continuously amazed by her ability to maintain and share fluid language skills in such unique settings.

Jenny is a fun, enthusiastic teacher with many years of experience teaching Spanish. I gained much needed confidence in my Spanish speaking abilities and expanded my vocabulary, as we practiced having day-to-day conversations. She cares a lot about her students' progress and will check in with how we are meeting personal goals.
