Learn Mixed Media Abstract Art Painting Techniques

Learn the art of combining various media to create beautiful paintings. Collage, paste, paint, ink, charcoal, pastels, and more - we can work with the supplies you have and I can give suggestions on creative ways to use household and unconventional items to use in your art practice. We will start where your skill level is at currently, from a beginner who has never created anything, to an experienced artist who wants to explore mixed media. I will teach techniques on various ways to begin a mixed media painting, multiple ways to create backgrounds, how to develop an idea, how to utilize color theory to end up with a cohesive piece, and how to develop your artistic style. Let’s create something fun and beautiful, send me a message to get started!

    About Jenne T.

I am a professional mixed media artist in New York. I have experience in oil painting, acrylic painting, drawing (charcoal, pastel, ink), plus more. I love stepping outside the boundaries and creating the unexpected, but believe you need to know the rules to break the rules. I love teaching those with an interest in art and don’t believe there is such a thing as bad art. I am very encouraging and help students find their artistic voice. My teaching style adapts to the student’s skill level and needs. We will set goals and set a path toward achieving those goals while having fun along the way.

I had the pleasure of taking a lesson from Jenne through a church event. Jenne was very patient, kind, creative, and prepared for the lesson. Jenne had a variety of materials to choose from and gave great advice and encouragement while I was creating my art piece. I would highly recommend taking a class from Jenne. :)

I had the pleasure of having Jenne teach my daughter in her homeschool co-op! She was so patient, kind, and brought many different kinds of projects. Jenne is incredibly talented, teaches very well, and very knowledgeable about art history as well as using different media.

I’ve had several art lessons from Jenne. I have nearly no artistic skills whatsoever but she was patient and understanding and my end result was actually pretty good. Also enjoyed the experience. She has really unique ideas and a diverse portfolio. Would highly recommend classes from Jenne.
