About Henry J.
I am a college student majoring in Informatics with a minor in data science. I love working with technology but am especially passionate about educating others. During my academic career, I've had a variety of roles in education.
I began as a course assistant leading review sessions for a basic computing course. I then moved onto writing lesson plans and leading larger review sessions for statistics courses for my university. My programming tutoring started with a company using a project-based curriculum. Here, we taught students basic programming skills and computer science knowledge by leading a step-by-step guide to create their own Gamemaker Game and their own Minecraft Mods.
I then worked in smaller classrooms teaching programming through Python, Alice, and Scratch. Here, students worked on applications Here I taught students from a simple "rock, paper, scissors" application to a more advanced Twitter Bot using a Raspberry Pi and the Twitter API.
Younger students can start learning a 4th generation language like Scratch or Alice. Older students may excel in learning Python or basic web development.
