I recently graduated high school where I was sitting in plastic chairs doing the same Spanish lessons everyday. Although I learned a lot, I was BORED which is not something I like saying given that I hope to minor in Spanish at UWM. Learning Spanish can be so much fun and is so rewarding. In my lessons I hope to bring the fun and work with my students to help navigate the style of learning that allows them to understand the best. I've tutored my high school peers in Spanish for the last 3 years. For an entire school year I visited a kindergartener who only spoke Spanish every Thursday and help him learn English. I travelled to Panamá with my science class one summer ago and was the in-house translator. Most recently I scored a perfect score on the Wisconsin universities Spanish placement test allowing me to be placed in the highest possible Spanish class at UWM that an incoming freshman can achieve. The most important things about my Spanish experiences though? I love the language and I've seen first hand how it can bring people together.
