My name is Guy, and I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to students and business professionals for 7+ years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and a Master's degree in Linguistics. I have taught English to top executives at Yahoo!, Rakuten, Kobo, Nikkei, DMM, NTT Corp., Yamada-Denki, and more. As an experienced teacher, I understand how students learn and retain new information. What's the secret? The truth is, there isn't any secret. Learning English is very difficult. However, there are two things you must do: 1. Study English every day (listen, speak, read, and write). Constant exposure is an absolute MUST when it comes to acquiring a new language. I work with each student to create a catered learning program to improve all 4 primary language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. 2. Write every day! The second ‘secret’ to learning a new language is to write—every day. All of my students have notebooks, and they all write daily. It's a simple method, but it works. During our first meeting together, we will discuss how to use writing exercises to improve other areas, such as listening, speaking, reading, and pronunciation. My students include high school, undergraduate, and graduate students; young children; and adult speakers of all levels. Whatever your language needs, I have the tools and tactics you need to improve your English and become more fluent. I also teach drums and acoustic guitar to Beginner and Intermediate students at my home studio in Sebastian, FL.

Applied Linguistics is an interdisciplinary field of inquiry that addresses a broad range of language-related issues in order to understand their roles in the lives of individuals and conditions in society. It draws on a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches from various disciplines–from the humanities to the social and natural sciences–as it develops its own knowledge-base about language, its users and uses, and their underlying social and material conditions.
