Hello! I am a fashion designer, tailor, and pattern making living in NYC. I received my BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art with a major in Fiber Arts/Fashion Design Concentration. I have been working in the fashion design industry for 10 years and teach sewing and arts and crafts to people of all ages.
I am available to teach any specific projects from start to completion that you have in mind, such as pillow making, alterations, creating garments from start to finish, as well as any level of sewing experience.
Beginner students will learn the basics of hand sewing (learning different techniques i.e. running stitch, blind stitch, blanket stitch), threading and setting up a sewing machine and stitching on the machine.
Intermediate will begin learning how to create a garment or item (i.e. pillow) using basic sewing techniques as well as learning more construction methods, such as adding lining and interfacing.
Advanced will focus on creating items from start to finish, such as completing a finished skirt or blouse.
I am skilled in pattern making, draping, and advanced tailoring which can be integrated into any lesson. I am very patient and can teach individuals of all aptitudes and experiences.
