Students tell me exactly what they want to learn, and I go to work fulfilling that list. On the way, I add enhancements. We add current local and global conditions so you can express your points of view in your second language. I'll introduce you to a little music and art of the culture you're studying. It helps you acquire the language faster.
Your pronunciation, grammar and sentence structure will improve brilliantly when you speak or write your political, economic, social or environmental points of view. Lessons are more interesting when the topics are pertinent to real life!
I'm a former Spanish teacher with a degree in Literature from UCSC, Students say I give them a strong foundation and confidence to converse in Spanish. You'll be able to understand and respond, even to complex sentences and ideas.
As a journalist and creative writer, teaching English is pure enjoyment for me. I tutor students in reading, spelling, grammar, comprehension, homework assignments and creative writing. As a published author, I can really help you shine in English class.
It's fun for me (maybe not so much for you!) to help students prepare for Big Tests like ACT and SAT. I take them from time to time myself. Let me help you feel confident.
Spanish lessons focus on training the ear and then looking at the written word. The result is very good pronunciation (some native speakers think I'm Latina). I love the Spanish language. Let me help you love it too, so that you're effective as a student, on the job, traveling and socializing.
For fun, I took the College Board SAT on-line in May, 2015. I scored in the 98th percentile for Reading and the 95th for Writing. I scored 32 correct out of 33 on the Spanish Practice Test.
