Anna received the "Best English Teacher" award when she taught high school for LAUSD. Not only was she deserving of this award, but Anna is truly an expertise in her field. She has always maintained a professional rapport with her students and is able to develop lessons for all her individual student's needs.

I worked with Anna for 4 years in a middle school, and we were both in the English department. Anna is caring and patient the students which makes them comfortable in her class. As an instructor, Anna is very passionate about literature and has a way of making the classics interesting to students. This is a huge achievement especially in the public school we taught at in Hollywood where most kids have no interest in reading and have parents whose education level is below a high school diploma. In Anna's class, they read Shakespeare, Austen, and Steinbeck, and they liked the books! Anna is also a fantastic teacher of writing being a writer herself. She believes in the writing process, and taught students how to write essays that are both precise yet to the point. In her class, students learned how to revise their writing without feeling like time is wasted. Anna was an effective teacher, and students will grow under her tutelage.
