    About Allison H.

I started knitting 11 years ago, because I wanted to learn how to make longies (cloth diaper covers) for my daughter. I began lessons at a local yarn shop when I was pregnant, learned to cast on/off, knit, and purl, and then my daughter arrived. I spent about 2 years only knitting squares & rectangles, then in 2008 two online knitting friends pushed me to tackle a pattern. It was AWFUL…the ugliest sock ever. The “ribbing” was undetectable, there were at least 2 heels, and the toes didn’t close up. Now there’s only a few techniques I haven’t tried. Lacework is hard to do with kids in the house. Someone always interrupts while I’m counting, so it’s best for my sanity to avoid it at the moment. I love cables, fair isle and fades <3
