Broadway music is a great way to improve those vocal chords and there is so much material to work with. Most students
choose two favorite songs to start. Or I can definitely help you with that! Basic concepts are learned or reviewed such as breathing, vowel modification, range extension. i will compose some specific vocal exercises to help you with you goals. I will also incorporate a couple perhaps lesser known musical pieces you may not know and can choose ones that will expand your vocal talent.

I love, love, love Broadway and am close to NYC so go to many shows (Pre-Covid anyway) And then so love to teach and Broadway tunes are truly some of the best songs to coach you into being a better singer. I also have an optional group lesson, or Masterclass approximately every 6-8 weeks where you have the opportunity to perform or observe other students performing. And everyone can sing, I promise.

Welcome! I am so glad you are considering private voice lessons, whether for yourself or someone else. Studying singing is an extremely rewarding and fun experience!

Students can expect to spend their first lesson working with me to determine their goals, skill level and expectations as a student of voice. From there, we will develop the voice using level-appropriate exercises and repertoire.

I can also provide coaching for many types of auditions and performances, including choirs, musicals, and competitions.

I am also happy to include sight-singing, music theory and basic piano skills in lessons.

I have thoroughly enjoyed taking voice lessons with Candice. She is an incredible musician and teacher. She explains concepts relating to technique, musicality, diction, etc., in a way that makes her knowledge and experience in singing evident. She's also kind and encouraging, always resulting in me thoroughly enjoying our lessons and looking forward to the following week. I highly recommend choosing Candice as a vocal instructor!

Candice is a wonderful vocal instructor. Not only is she a gifted singer, she is also a kind and knowledgeable teacher. She always makes me feel comfortable and confident.

I was enchanted by Candice's performance when she played Hodel at Northwest Savoyard's production of Fiddler on the Roof. As a stagehand, I was able to listen to all of the shows and to observe the audience at times. She closed the first half of the play with her solo, "Far from the Home I Love." She is leaving her home and family to follow her love, Perchik, who is exiled to Siberia. I marveled as her sweet yet powerful soprano filled the theater and transfixed the audience. Her vocal facility with that song's wide range showed her great gift. Audience after audience was left in stunned 'pin drop' silence for quite some time at the song's conclusion. Then followed an explosion of applause and much dabbing of eyes. The energy was incredible, magical!

"Kristin is an excellent teacher. Very patient and very approachable. She is very knowledgeable in both theatre and music. She started me on basics such as breath control, support, and learning to sing as easily as possible. She was very attentive to my goals, in this case it was to learn as well as get ready for an audition for a local musical. I've had a great experience working with her an would recommend her highly. "Literally, I couldn’t ask for a better Broadway singing and acting coach! Honestly, she's been so patient with me since I am pretty new to this industry. She has been nothing but supportive and I really can’t thank her enough for that. With Shauna by my side, I feel like I'm getting closer to my dream! Her classes are always fun as she has a great sense of humor plus all the knowledge and on top of that, experience in the industry insight. In the tough times of coronavirus, Shauna suggested Facetime lessons that are actually very convenient and beneficial. Think about it, staying home, not spending time on commute and keeping yourself and others healthy. Thank you, Shauna. Really grateful for meeting you! Best regards, Karina"
