Lydia was wonderful! We had trouble getting a camera working first time, she was so patient. Building on the music base my daughter already had, she quickly zeroed in on what my daughter needs to work on. She looks forward to the next lesson. 😀

I have been playing the piano since I was five years old. My passion for music led me to steadily progress in my studies, and I naturally chose to major in music at Ohio State. To broaden my scope, I earned my degree in Composition while taking piano lessons concurrently from Professor Emeritus George Haddad and Professor Steven Glaser. Rather than focus on one area of piano music, I augmented my repertoire through extensive study of the Baroque through Modern periods. In addition, I accompanied orchestra and band instruments, a youth choir, and even performed the first movement of Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto with my high school’s chamber orchestra.
I am very perceptive of my students’ rate of improvement and level of engagement with the music they’re playing. If they are stuck on something, I am patient to go over the lesson as much as needed. If they feel bored, I will find more challenging music for them. A great incentive to play is that I offer lessons on my ...

BM Music Composition -- Ohio State University, Autumn 2012 BA Classics (Greek and Latin) -- Ohio State University, Autumn 2012 Classics Fellowship -- Indiana University, 2013-2014 Piano Training: Collegiate lessons from Steven Glaser and private lessons from George Haddad
As a high school senior, under the tutelage of OSU Profess
or Emeritus and world-renowned pianist George Haddad, I performed the first movement of Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto with the chamber orchestra.
I performed different self-composed pieces at seven OSU Composers' Workshops and won the Audience Favorite Award at the Johnstone Woodwinds Composition Competition in 2012. My Senior Composition Recital was performed on October 25, 2012. It showcased several of my three-movement works: string quartet, clarinet solo, set of classical songs for piano and voice, set of pop songs for piano and voice. Interspersed with these were two solo piano pieces and a duet for piano and violin.
My background makes me a knowledgeable and effective tutor. I was valedictorian at Delaware Hayes High School in 2009 and received OSU's Maximus Scholarship based on my ACT and SAT scores.
Excitement, Joy and Creativity is how a student feels after a typical lesson with me. I bring over 20 years of learning, playing and teaching experience to the piano. I have extensively studied my craft and the art of teaching. Most lessons include learning repertoire, music theory and exploring music of diverse genres. Students are also encouraged to set goals for the music education. I focus on teaching the whole musician.
I am an experienced pianist, violist and music educator. I graduated with my degree in Music Education from Jackson State University with a concentration in piano.
Piano and Strings students can expect to improve from week to week with proper technique. Knowing that every student learns differently I take the time to understand how you learn and apply it to maximize learning. Lessons with me include not only repertoire but we set goals.
I teach all levels of piano, violin, and viola. I studied classical piano and viola for over 15 years. In addition to playing classical music, I am also able to play gospel and rhythm and blues music.
Students can expect to learn technique, music theory and a diverse repertoire of music.
I am a firm believer of teaching a solid musical foundation and exposing my students to diverse music literature.
I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you.
All ages are welcome! Lessons are individually tailored for each student. Students will learn music theory as well as note reading and technique.
I am a classically trained vocalist and pianist. I graduated from the University of South Dakota with Masters in Vocal Performance. I also have a Master of Arts in Church Music from Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University.
When I started voice lessons in high school I started at the very bottom. I am a better teacher for having to start at the very beginning.
Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.
I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano for 13 years. I can teach students to read music and pursue classi
I only teach Beginning Piano. This is for anyone who would like to learn how to read music and learn basic piano skills. This goes great along side my voice class/
I am a profesional operatic Bass from San Jose California and now living in Wilmington DE. While I was in California, I sung with many opera companies around the Bay Area. Singing has been my number one passion but teaching comes in at a close second. I love seeing my students grow and watching the transformation they make while studying with me. I been teaching since 2012 and all my students have gone off to do amazing things. I hope you choose me to be your voice/piano teacher and I look forward to meeting you!
I have been giving lessons since 2006, and I have seen music enrich the lives of many in countless ways. Whether you are looking for a new hobbie, a new passion, or for something to keep your kids engaged and busy, learning an instrument has endless benefits both long term and short. I will make a personalized lesson plan based on 2 big questions: why do you want to take lessons? Where do you want to be at the end of it? Lets go from there.
I have been playing the piano and the trombone since childhood. Growing up in a musical family, music has always played a big part in my life. I was active in school bands in addition to taking private lessons throughout grade school. In high school I was a member of Tri-M (a musical honor society), qualified for district band through audition, and was ranked in the top 10% of trombone players in the state of Virginia. Throughout my education I developed a working knowledge of brass instruments, music theory, a variety of playing styles, and much more.
After high school, I pursued and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, while continuing my musical career, playing in bands offered by the school as well as in the Richmond area. I am currently active with the ACCA Temple Shiners in their German band
, The Sauerkrauts, 100% of whose proceeds go to benefit children in Shriner-owned hospitals. I have been giving private lessons since 2006, and have a deep passion for musical education. I feel learning to play an instrument enriches life in a way few other things can.

"Troy has helped me work through some longstanding technical issues that other teachers overlooked and has introduced me to repertoire that I was unaware o

"My daughter loves her piano lessons. Aleksis is very patient and knowledgeable. We are very happy"
"Jordan was a phenomenal teacher. His enthusiasm and dedication to education and personal mentor-ship are incomparable. He provided a very clear understand
ing of both the technical and artistic skills necessary in order to progress in the direction and pace I desired. Every lesson was highly informative but also made to be a fun learning experience."
"I was struggling with my Music Appreciation class and I really needed extra practice. Mesrop was really patient with me, and helped me throughout the seme
ster- even at inconvenient times of the day. Passed with flying colors! Thank you!"
"Slava is more than a great pianist - he is a versatile musician and lovely human being. You will learn a great deal not only about technique but also abou
t the composer's background and the piece's historical context."
"My 16 yr old son started lessons with Richard a year ago. He was with another teacher for 10 years before that and quit at age 14. He forgot most of what
he learned and was hesitant to try out online lessons after a two year break. Richard had a way of motivating my son to read music and in very little time, he started practicing daily and for fun! Many times I would catch him playing piano at night (using a digital piano with headphones). He improved so rapidly and now plays Chopin pieces whereas one year ago he could barely play half a Thompson song. Highly recommend Richard. My son loves playing the piano now!"
"Mr. Higgins is a wonderful piano teacher! He is very receptive to my overall goals with piano and tailors each of our lessons to meet my abilities and ens
ure that I am learning well-rounded skills. During our lessons we review workbook music, (beginner) classical pieces, technique, and ear training. I'm really enjoying learning from Mr. Higgins, and he makes each lesson both educational and fun!"
