I'm a singer songwriter with over 50 original tunes written or co-written. I can teach song structure and music theory you can use in songwriting. If you play guitar or piano even better yet we can explore your song writing skills and make them better as you develop your song from top to bottom. Piano and guitars available to use in my studio so there is no need to lug your keyboard to a lesson.

I have written and recorded well over 100 professional level songs. I teach how to understand diatonic structure and chord resolution and how, once you know the "rules" you can break them all to play exactly what you hear should be in the song.

I use techniques such as alliteration when writing lyrics as well as finding a song in a particular idiomatic style that appeals to me. Another technique I like to use is create the melody, then the bass line. This will insure a solid foundation for the other instruments. I am getting some nice results from my students. I have been writing songs for forty years and I am a publisher and songwriter with B.M.I. I have my own personal production studio. I am using "Studio One" , "Garageband" and ""Pro Logic" Digital audio workstations. It is a great way to teach songwriting.

Hello. If you want to learn to play and understand piano and music,... I can help you! I teach, play and compose a variety of styles, such as pop, rock, blues, classical, jazz, and new-age music. I can show you how to listen to a recording and to play it without written music. Also, I can teach

Gene is a great instructor. He is very kind and attentive. I'm a beginner and I do mean beginner. But Gene takes time and let's me know that I can accomplish playing regardless of my age. I'm an old hippy! So learning songs like "Imagine" and "Knocking on Heavens Door" is right up my alley! I look forward to my classes! Here comes the 54 year old hippy with guitar on her hip!!! I have been teaching guitar to students on the East and West Coasts of the United States for over 20 years. I was always interested in music and made my first “recording” at the age of 2 and a half. I got serious about playing the guitar when I was 10 years old after hearing the legendary Randy

"Indigo is a fabulous and diverse teacher! I've been taking lessons with her for about 9 months. Although my lessons are "officially" for songwriting, we divide our time among that, guitar technique, and music theory. I've experienced so much progress and fun in several areas, and I attribute that to Indigo's teaching and guidance. I even wrote and produced my first solo song! Don't miss the chance to work with a great musician and teacher!"

“The pupil gets to be the star, Cooper Bombadil helps that star shine.”

I wanted to write this review/reference for Cooper because I was impressed with his abilities to instruct while allowing my songwriting creativity and vision to be held as valid. Through encouraging examination of my progress, he illuminated and clarified the project rather than tailoring it to fit his own agenda. He built trust and didn't overshadow my work. This is a gift that should be shared to others with musical aspirations!

His sensitivity, insights and solid suggestions helped me achieve a goal that had lain dormant for ten years. I am beyond satisfied with his songwriting instruction services and plan on exploring his vocal coaching!

Lyrically Stuck? Think Like Eddie Vedder

Earlier this week, Eddie Vedder announced the venues for his upcoming solo tour, stopping in 13 cities to promote his 2011 album "Ukelele Songs." The tour begins on April 11th in Las Vegas, and then works across the country, ending on May 16th in Orlando.  Pearl Jam embarks on its European tour just one month after. Vedder's passion-filled lyrics, ranging in topics from personal to political, have made him one of the most prominent songwriters of the rock-and-roll genre.  Pair that with his …

10 Proven Steps For Writing Lyrics That Stick

The late Amy Winehouse tribute album Lioness: Hidden Treasures has been making waves on the UK music charts, securing the #1 spot just days after its release.  Although the posthumous album has had its share of drama and questionable reviews, the collection - with its mix of covers and raw, unfinished tunes polished up by the producers - seems fitting in depicting Amy as the troubled, tattered star that she was. As she sings at the start of "Best Friends, Right?": "I can't wait to get away f …
