I teach phonics to younger children to develop their reading, writing and speech. I put a heavy emphasis on developing the child's awareness of phonemes, which are the most basic building blocks for all words in the English language. I will improve your child's ability to hear, identify, and manipulate over 40+ phonemes, and teach them how they correspond to the intricate spelling patterns that are found in our language.
I have taught all forms of English and language arts from pre-school to adults in their 50's from foreign countries. I am an expert on pronunciation, vocabulary, spelling, reading, writing as well as more complex mechanics such as sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, comprehension, etc.
About Matthew

If you've ever struggled to explain to your child why a word says what it does or is spelled the way it is, please join me for a one hour seminar in Phonics for Parents.
To many emerging readers, English can seem to be a frustrating jumble of exceptions. For nearly a century, many students have been taught grossly oversimplified phonics that generate thousands of exceptions. That approach works for some students, but many struggle - especially rule-following, logical, literal students. Indeed, nearly two thirds of 4th and 8th graders read below grade level.
Thankfully, English follows a deliciously rich and robust code with remarkable consistency - and in fact, fully 98% of English words are phonetically regular. The Phonics for Parents seminar is one hour of intensive instruction designed to give literate adults the tools needed to unlock the code and become a literacy superhero. You'll come away with insights that have left many wondering "how did I not know this before

He came prepared and on time every time, ready to tutor in either subject because my child was difficult, uncooperative and would not stick to her scheduled sessions. Through all this Keith remained dedicated, supportive and patient. He worked with us even to the premature ending of our sessions, and even then he remained understanding and supportive of our decision to end.
If there's one tutor I'd recommend; it would be Keith. He WILL make every effort to reach your child and engage them in the learning process to attain positive growth and development, you will NOT be disappointed in any way.
