Chris taught one lesson to my son, then he cancelled the following week's lesson and never returned numerous phone calls, emails, and text messages. He didn't respond, then the following week at our next scheduled instruction he called me 30 mins before the lesson asking if he could move the date.

Needless to say, it was very unprofessional of him, and we intended to end our relationship with him as my son's instructor.

The thing got worse when he proceeded to schedule my son for a weekly reoccurring lesson for the next year. I've had to manually cancel each lesson, at least until Jan 2015.

I would strongly warn you against signing up with Chris if you expect an instructor who is reliable and responsive to your communications. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but the other problem is that this was my son's first experience to music lessons, so it was a bad first experience.

We're giving 3 out of 5 stars since that seems fair. With regards to the lessons themselves, Chris certainly met our expectations with our son's violin lessons. However, with regards to communications and scheduling, it could have been much better. More than once my son was waiting on Skype after receiving the "You have upcoming lessons" email from TakeLessons. Chris needs to learn how to cancel the lessons ahead of time. He rarely responded to emails (was trying to get him to stop showing our email openly to all his other students, really needs to learn how to use BCC). He never returned phone calls. Due to the canceled lessons, our TakeLesson pay date came prematurely, and since I waited until our son's paid lessons were completed before paying for new ones, we got dropped from the schedule and lost our time slot. Too many frustrations led to finding a new teacher.

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.

Matt has been awesome working with my sixteen year-old daughter and her algebra. She was hesitant about Skype and tutoring online but it has been so great working with Matt. He is very professional and organized and took the time to review her tests and homework prior to the scheduled session. He knew exactly what she needed to work on and after just a few sessions, she is feeling confident and has a better idea what and how to study! We highly recommend online tutoring and especially working with Matt!

· GMAT · In home
I did 2 sessions with Matt while I was home in preparation for my GMAT, which is in 3 weeks. We focused on the quantitative section, which was the weak spot on my first test. Matt’s familiarity with the GMAT (both the Verbal and Math section) was evident in the first few minutes of sitting down with him. Probably even more important, given my time constraint, was Matt’s ability to quickly identify my specific problem areas (integer / geometric properties & time management on data sufficiency problems) and come up with a game plan to improve them. Matt’s teaching style helped solidify key concepts by having me walk him through my thinking on problems and correcting me only when I veered off path. This approach worked for me. After the second session, I took a practice test and my math score improved substantially. I would recommend Matt to anyone who’s serious about boosting their GMAT score.

Started early to use Excel for business and created sheets for an executive of a big German Company when I was 19.

About Marcel

I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I've been tutoring professionally for over 30 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office student.

I have a unique lesson plan with an emphasis on introduction/basics of any Microsoft Office application (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) that I use to teach my students to become proficient with any of the Microsoft Office applications in a short amount of time. Most of my students learn the basics of each of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or Outlook) in just an hour or so and are amazed by just how proficient they have become in such a short amount of time. However, I customize each lesson to go at the learning speed of the student. So, we can go as fast or as slow as the student would like.

Want to create a document or worksheet? Interested in learning to create a letter or a budget with charts? A database or PowerPoint presentation with text, buttons, images, charts, and more? Want to learn to work ...

About Jason
I've been tutoring individuals, small businesses, and corporate employees to become proficient in using their computers and applications since 1985, and I can help you do the same. I have the experience to get you where you want to go. I can help you learn all about Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).

I'm very patient and I pace all my lessons at the learning speed of my student - as fast or slow as they need so they don't feel overwhelmed. Naturally, it takes a few times practicing the usage before someone feels confident, but I can help you become proficient in using your applications. I enjoy teaching people about their computers, and it makes me happy to see them become proficient in using their applications.

I also appreciate the practice aids he provided me to continue practicing after our sessions were over. He's also very fair: when we had a mix up in our meeting time, he was very quick to follow up, and make sure that we didn't miss a beat.
