Christoffer S. North Hollywood, CA

About Christoffer

I have an MFA in Music Composition and Piano Performance from California Institute of the Arts and a BA in Music Composition from UC Santa Barbara. I have been playing the piano since the age of 7 and started composing as a teenager. I began teaching music in high school and quickly learned that providing musical knowledge is just as important as acquiring the skills it takes to be a musician. Studying with me will help you become a well-rounded musician with the ability to play the type of music you want to play. Constantly composing, film scoring, and performing, I'm a very active musician that works with classical musicians, rock musicians, and everything in between. I teach a variety of instruments and will cater lessons to your styles and interests. I'm also a recording artist ...

Great lesson. This was my first time putting on an accordion in over 30 years and Christoffer had me reading music by the end of my first 30 minute lesson.

Chris is a great teacher. I worked with him at CalArts. He has a highly diverse range of skills as an instrumentalist and composer. He works in various musical styles fluently (from film scoring, songwriting, instrumental and vocal writing, to electronic music). A friendly and pleasant teacher to work with—he is very good at meeting the student at his/her level and helping them with their own individual artistic goals/needs. I highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone wanting to develop their musical skills.

My daughter has taken lessons with Jon while she is in LA. Jon is super patient and an extremely talented teacher/singer. Jessie was a strictly Broadway type singer, and Jon helped her learn how to sing different styles, especially pop.

Great Teacher

I scheduled something for my daughter with Jon. He is very accomodating because my daughter had a musical theater solo and needed some help to strengthen her vocal range. In one hour, Jon did wonderful and helped to improve the performance drastically.

At the risk of giving away my best kept secret, Michelle is THE BEST!!!

Not only is she an amazing teacher, she is an incredible talent, and awesome person. Her relaxed and nurturing nature enables you to feel super comfortable and excited to learn. She motivates you to try your best and focuses on your strengths, while building and improving upon your weaknesses.

I've taken singing lessons in the past, and after one class with Michelle, I realized, I hadn't learned anything! If you really want to learn in a positive and motivating environment, take classes with Michelle. Just don't sign up for my time slot...I called dibs and I'm going to be taking classes for a while! Lol. =)

Corinne is amazing! I have been studying voice with her weekly for about two years now, and my musical theatre callback and booking rate has multiplied so much since before I started with her. She is so friendly and accommodating to my crazy, unreliable schedule. She always manages to fit me in when I need to see her for audition prep etc. She has also helped a lot on the business end of things with helping me create/work on my Book. She is wonderful at pinpointing what needs to be worked on most individually with her clients and letting that be an area of focus, while still making sure to give a full lesson with everything you need. For me, my weakness when I started with her was my mix. Now, two years later, at the last musical theatre audition I had (which I booked) I was complimented by the musical director about how nice my mix was. I definitely credit Corinne for that! I would highly recommend Corinne to singers of any level! Whether new and wanting to learn how to carry a tune, or professional singers looking for a good vocal workout, she is your lady!

Corinne is extremely thorough and is very patient with me. I'm brand new to music, and she has made me feel very comfortable. I know I'm on track because the habits and memorization techniques she teaches are very effective. Also playing duets with her are so fun!!!

Jared J. Burbank, CA

About Jared

I have been happily playing music for over half of my life and it has always been the light in my day. Now it is my hope to shed that same light onto you or your child. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience, even more importantly I love teaching and music with a passion. I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade (cello) and, as I learned how music works, was slowly able to pick-up a greater variety instruments with an increasing degree of ease. In high school, I decided to pick-up the guitar just to "have fun and rock out". I joined a band, played in the high school orchestra, joined the high school jazz band and began to practice songwriting and cover songs. Still, it was not until after I took my first class on music theory
