From basic beginner skills such as color mixing and showing basic brush strokes, to advanced technical skills using color for dynamic design. I have taught thousands of people from 5 year old complete beginners to advanced. I teach in a way that no one teaches. I actually show every brushstroke. You will start a painting and by the end will not only have a finished gorgeous painting that you will honestly be amazed that you did it, you will have many new skills to take to the next painting and be able to apply those skills forever.
About Lynn
Ms. Buettner has studied at several of the most prestigious art schools in the Northeast including: Rhode Island School of Design, The New York Art Students' League, the Paier College of Art in Connecticut, and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States and Canada, and is in collections worldwide. Summering on the East Coast on Martha's Vineyard Island, Ms. Buettner's work quickly became known and collected by local residents and returning island guests. Most originals were sold while still on her easel.
To keep up with demand, sh
The publishing company that licensed her designs flew her to China to do an art signing at the Canton World Trade Show.
Enthusiastically sharing her knowledge, she has taught all levels of art to both beginners and adults for the past thirty years. She created and taught a very successful after school art program for kids for over ten years as well. After devoting the last twenty years to painting scenes ranging from realistic to impressionistic, Ms. Buettner is venturing out with her accomplished techniques and abilities, into the exciting and unusual world of intuitive expression. Letting go of conscious thoughts, an exciting, creative and sensual world emerges to be shared with the viewer. This work has been coined Neo Biomorphic.
Her work has been used on many different commercial projects including the Nash Bridges TV Show and the TV movie Diary of a Mad Housewife.
Starting a very successful after school art program for grades 1-6, she has extensive experience in all age groups bringing the student from beginning drawing to the most advanced painting techniques that took over 40 years to acquire.

I graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in June 2007 with a Master in Education (Arts in Education) degree. During my studies I worked in the framework of the Artful Adventures Program (Museum of Fine Arts in Boston), which provides object - based learning and hands on artistic experiences for elementary and middle school kids. My own research was about “Creative Insight in Practice" and "Acquiring English as a Second Language and Developing Self-Esteem through the Idiom of Art". I have more than a two decades-long experience in painting, drawing, printmaking and installation work.

I provide classical instruction in portraiture, still life and landscape in your studio or mine. In this traditional approach to drawing and painting, what will be taught and focused upon are perspective, value and composition in order for the student to develop strong visual language skills. The program of study begins with a specific focus on drawing, since drawing is the foundation upon which all great traditional art is built. Throughout this training, emphasis will be placed on accuracy, or more specifically, seeing and rendering correctly such things as line quality, hard and soft edges, proportion, positive and negative space through abstract form and the use of the full range of values.
About Jeff
The program of study for drawing will include: Demonstration of one, two and three point perspective, creating the nine step value scale, cast drawing in charcoal, the still life in charcoal and drawing the portrait. The topic of composition will also be covered. I’ve done commissioned work for Audi, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the American Repertory Theater, the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, Kessler Financial Ser

In my classes I emphasize two things: creating a new way of seeing, and practicing accuracy in what you see. We move through exercises that develop creativity and work through the fundamental technical components of making a drawing or a painting. Each class builds upon the tools we've developed from the last so students come away with a comprehensive understanding of art making, rather than a step-by-step formula. We work together to not only increase technical proficiency and achieve specific goals, but to develop the confidence to make art anywhere the mood strikes, whether it be painting at your kitchen table or sketching in a coffee shop or a hotel balcony.
About Kelsey
My current body of work is concerned with a female character that inhabits worlds populated by plant life. I was most recently represented by Christopher Stout Gallery New York (2015-17), and have exhibited in New York, Germany, Miami, Toronto, and Montreal. I was awarded residencies at the Centre Pompadour (France); Emerson Landing, Eastside International, Starry Night (USA); and C

I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical oil paint skills. I specialize in realism.
About Mariana
My students can expect to improve week to week in their drawing and painting techniques. While gaining knowledge of the fundamental principles of perception—light, plane-structure, tonal value, perspective, proportion—students will learn to construct images that realistically and accurately interpret objects in space. This solid foundation will enable students to express their personal creative vocabulary more clearly and effectively.
I teach students of all different ages and experience levels.
My personal passion is realism in classical and contemporary art but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better artist!

All it takes is time and a willingness to make mistakes and learn from them. I’ve been painting for 8 years and teaching for 1.
