Hello!  My name is Louise, and I have a vast amount of teaching experience in diverse subjects.  I am primarily, a performer and voice teacher.  My bachelor's degree is in vocal performance; I have over 2 decades of experience singing vocal solos, choral music, performing musical theatre roles, and competing in auditions and contests.  I have over ten years experience teaching private voice lessons and directing church choral programs.  I love to sing and help others meet their performance and audition goals!

I also have almost 10 years experience as an educator in public schools.  I hold a master's degree in special education, and worked in classrooms with students with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders.  This experience gives me an edge that allows me to modify and personalize each lesson based on student demeanor and ability.  

I am also an online English teacher (native speaker).  I hope to make learning English fun and practical based on your goals and purposes for learning.  I use a combination of methods including music-based activities.

This class is perfect for the music enthusiast that enjoys the Halloween season!  We will discuss the darker side of music and how scary music can enhance our media experiences.  We will learn what makes music "sound" scary and what inspires composers to write creepy tunes.  Students will learn about how musical elements such as rhythm, dynamics, dissonance, etc. can be manipulated to sound frightening to the human ear and why it affects listeners a certain way.  Students will learn composer names, historical backdrops, and names of compositions.  We will discuss music lyrics and listen to musical excerpts.  Each lesson, students will study a musical, classical piece, and popular song that has a haunting sound or theme.  Students will interact with the teacher and peers through discussion and musical evaluation. No musical experience is required.

If you’re looking for the best vocal coach, here she is. Louise is AMAZING! I have had two lessons with her and I already feel like I have learned so soooo much. 1-She’s super efficient. She uses every single second in the lessons and that’s something I love. 2- Super nice. She’s super friendly and will make you feel extremely comfortable during the lesson. 3- She’s really good at explaining. I understand everything she explains in her lessons. 4- She’s the full package. I’m learning to sing in a musical theater style and not only those she teach the vocal methods but also teaches you the acting portion. How to apply emotion into your singing. 5- Adapts to you and your voice. If something isn’t working, no problem, she will find another way to explain it or find another vocal exercises that helps you understand the concept better and that helps you move forward. 100% recommend.

I've enjoyed learning getting better strengthening my vocals

I love Louise. she is helping me with intonation, pitch, sight singing, ear training. I mostly sing with a church choir but her instruction has really helped me.

This video guides you through several of my staple exercises for warming up head voice and finding the "hoot" space that we need for singing many genres such as pop, legit musical theatre, and classical.  Exercising head voice should be a routine part of a well rounded vocal artist.

We will review the major scale, ascending and descending.  Students will practice identifying various combinations of all the notes of the major scale by ear.

We will review all the notes of the major scale (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do), ascending and descending.  Using solfege hand symbols, students will sightsing the major scale in various combinations, testing their ability to identify patterns of notes including stepwise motion and skips (intervals).
