I've been teaching piano for over 13 years. I use Alfred's Premier Piano Courses levels 1 - 6 for children. For adults I use Alfred's Lesson Book 1 - 3. My teaching goals for all my students are to enable them to read and make music so that they could experience the joy of journeying in the realm of musical sounds.
My philosophy in teaching piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once a person learns the mechanism of driving so many possibilities open for the person to enjoy trips to many places that bring pleasures that destiny could offer. In some ways, playing the piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once the mechanism of making music is mastered, the possibilities of making journeys of musical sound is endless.

Heather is patient and kind. She brings both technical and people skills to our practice sessions. If one of my family members or close friends asked me recommend a piano teacher, with no hesitation, I would enthusiastically reccomend Heather.

Heather was wonderful in getting me back into the piano! As an older student I was apprehensive at first, but she was very positive and made me very comfortable. She was very helpful and brought me a long way in a short period of time.

I prefer a holistic approach to studying arranging and composition. One day we might analyze a string quartet by Ravel and the next we might dig into some horn parts for a funk chart. You can apply the same core compositional concepts to any genre or setting!

About Joe

Joe is an award-winning composer, arranger, and violinist based in the Los Angeles area. From an early age Joe has lived and breathed music. Growing up in an artistic family he was inspired to begin his musical path starting with the violin. After teaching himself several other instruments and play

Very patient with those trying to learn, and a very fun person to talk to, whether it be about the instrument or anything else.

Joe is a fun, professional and talented teacher! He gave me advice and etudes that really helped me play interesting breaks at gigs. Have your questions and goals ready to tell him, and he will give you exactly what you need to sound better. He is very intuitive and understanding, and he will use every minute of your time efficiently with practical exercises that work. He was also very responsible, dependable, easy to reach and punctual. I'm scheduling more lessons with him!

I started playing the ukulele around age 18 and began teaching at 22. I love this instrument, and I love teaching it to kids. It's a simple but wonderful instrument and so fun to play. I'll focus on technique, chords, tab, finger picking, song studies, and theory.

About Olivia

I love to create. The way I'm most comfortable creating is through writing; whether it's a song, a short story, a poem or a script. Writing has always been the bass line in my life; the heartbeat. Music and film are both passions of mine. I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied

My teaching aims to develop a holistic, healthy, and passionate musician. I believe that technique is crucial to this goal, and therefore the main focus of my work. I teach breath support, alignment, efficient phonation, and articulation and diction through principles of vocal physiology and vocology. I am comfortable teaching classical, belt, and pop styles. I also strive to engender a sense of ownership and drive in each student through exploration of new repertoire and styles of music through a caring, fun, and detail-oriented studio environment.

About Maya

I am a German-American soprano whose passion is to tell stories through music. I've performed throughout the United States and Europe, and with companies like Pacific Opera Project, Aspen Opera Center, and Miami Music Festival. I have over 10 years of experience teaching voice, violin, and viola l

"I have taken a couple different piano instructors and Howard is by far, the best I have worked with. He tailors the instruction to you, your goals, and frames it towards your learning style and creates a lesson plan that's fun, educational, and full of information. He also cares so much about his students and is not just a piano instructor but a friend. I have made huge gains in my piano accompaniment and theory and I owe it all to Howard. Highly recommended!"

"I had two months' of lessons with Laura over the summer, and learned a ton of new things. Laura has many tricks to help me practicing and get into good playing habits. She gradually add layers of interpretation techniques to a piece, and without realizing it, I had already progressed a lot. Unfortunately I have to move to a new place, otherwise I would definitely love to continue piano study with Laura!"

"Keith is the best! I came in as a beginner and Keith makes everything really easy to follow and understand. With over 40 years of experience, it's clear that Keith really knows what he's talking about. Even as a Grammy-winner, with experience with people like Bob Seger and friends like Eddie and Alex Van Halen, he's still such a down-to-earth guy. I look forward to every one of our lessons! Not only am I learning the dynamics of drumming and starting with techniques that I'll be able to build on forever, but I also learn about the music industry every lesson. His lessons go well beyond just drumming and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else in the area who has his kind of experience and skills. Keith goes above and beyond, as an instructor. His love of drumming is infectious and I can't even believe I was able to get lessons with someone of his caliber. Musicians like Keith are usually in LA and NY, we are SO lucky to have him here. Look no further, Keith is your guy. If he has any availability! ;)"
