"As a teacher, I am whole heartedly committed to nurturing the development of students as they continue with the journey of playing music, and evolve into beautiful musicians. Achieving this requires a present awareness of my students and the music they are drawn to, while also presenting them with music and knowledge from various genres, styles, and times, to broaden their perception of the world we come from and thrive in.  My intention is to provide each individual with the necessary tools to play music passionately, beautifully, and with understanding. My goals as a music educator are to help students experience the joy of learning and playing music while becoming a well-rounded and well-versed musician.

I aim to build a personal relationship with each of my students, and to provide a comfortable, challenging, fun, and vibrant learning experience as well so that all of my students can excel to their fullest potential."  - Sophia ♫

Sophia is a great teacher and she tailors lessons based on skill level and what client wants to focus on along with the basic of piano playing.

Sophia is absolutely the best piano teacher ever! She's punctual, kind, and patient. She genuinely cares that I understand not just how to play the piano, but also the theoretical apparatus behind the music that I'm learning to play. I will take lessons from her until I'm taking a dirt nap.

As an adult trying to get back into playing piano it was hard for me to find the right fit with a piano teacher. Sophia displays a perfect balance of encouragement, intelligence, and professionalism in our lessons. Her hours are flexible, and she has so much to offer and talk about with whatever is I want to learn. Thank you Sophia!

Joseph is a very gifted person, it's hard to find someone who has an ocean of musical ideas in his or her heart. He is not just a professional in his work, he is a true composer. Thus it is more than creativity, he is not simply putting together known material, he's creating his own, and he does it in a professional way. It never gets boring to work with him, I always look forward for his flesh ideas and new way to interpret music.
Kristina
I have had many piano teachers before I came to Joseph. Since then, in his private lessons we've covered scales, learned classical pieces, choir songs, accompaniment for hymns and how to play by ear.
I love how much he cares for each of his students and wants each lesson to be valuable. The passion for teaching is seen in him, and as a current student of his, I could say that he has built plethora of skills in me, so that I can use that knowledge to serve God, persevere, and carry on that education to the generation after me.
He has a lot of experience teaching piano and a big background in music. It's a blessing to be a student of a talented teacher, composer, and conductor, who is also highly respected, inspirational and caring.
Elijah Cosovan
I have been taking theory/harmony lessons with Mr. Joseph Nikita for 4 years now and couldn't be any more satisfied with his teaching style.
Mr. Nikita takes the complex concepts of music harmony and breaks them down to the point where they become easy to understand, retain, and apply to my homework and compositions.
One thing I much admire in Mr. Nikita's teaching is the variability in his explanations. I don't prefer learning in a lecture-style environment (where the teacher lectures and the student takes notes), so Mr. Nikita takes each topic and explains it in multiple ways - using real-life applications and examples. This helps me obtain a clear understanding of each lesson - making it easy to go in depth in music harmony.

Hi! I have a Bachelors in Music Education and have experience teaching many beginning students! I have 3 children and decided to give up regular teaching to be with them. I marched Drum and Bugle Corp. Being in that group taught me a lot about brass and I marched a straight Baritone and a Mellophone different years. I believe that tone production is the most important area of study. It doesn’t matter what you can play if it doesn’t sound good. I can’t wait to help more students love to “play” on their instruments!

About Kim

Hello! I started my love of music at a young age with my family playing and singing at family functions. That turned into a wanting to learn how to play the flute and I went up through high school with that instrument. After high school I branched out more into vocal performance. After that I j

"Would recommend to everyone!

We are so Thankful for Ms. Heidi. She has been teaching our 10 year old daughter, with Aspergers, for 7 months. We can really tell her lessons are individually created and thought out. She develops a beautiful relationship with each student and family and maintains a level of unparalleled professionalism. She has managed to challenge our daughter while surrounding each lesson with wit, kindness and support. We could not be more excited to continue flute lessons for Olivia and add another musician or our family with our 7 year old as she begins piano with Ms. Heidi in the Spring."

"Marie-France is doing a wonderful job teaching our 7 year old sons piano. Marie-France has created an environment where our active boys are engaged and happy to go to class. She has individualized her approach and given each child the level of work that he is ready for. The boys started in the fall and had their first recital this spring; they did terrific and were so happy to perform. We have been happy with the progress both children have made this year. I would strongly recommend Marie-France as a teacher. She knows and loves music and is able to relate to children - they love her."

After a lesson a week for about 4 months, I've been picked to be a Semi-Finalist in a singing competition called So You Think You Can Belt in New York City, with one of the judges being a former producer from X factor (UK/US), has done consulting work for American Idol and America's Got Talent, and currently recruits for The Voice. Steve has been my son's teacher for a year and my son's playing ability has increased dramatically from his previous instructor. My son really enjoys his class time with Steve and the way he teaches music. He engages my son to want to play better. He takes time to let me know how my son is doing, what he needs to work on, and he should do at home to progress. Steve is an excellent teacher."

"Highly recmmended

Farobag Cooper excels with the student who has played the piano over a period of years. Fingering, for example, is adjusted to fit the player's hands rather than the proscribved notations of the publisher. Interpretation is noted and practiced at every moment of the composition often by the instructor then followed by the student. Perhaps what sets Farobag apart is his manner of conducting as one performs. It is a feeling like being in an orchestra with one's personal conductor. But first mastery of score. Then interpretation. Voila! Music."

5 Simple Things to Add to Your Next Vocal Warm-Up

Singers, you probably already know the importance of a proper vocal warm-up, whether you're practicing or performing. But here's something smart to keep in mind warming up goes far beyond breathing exercises and scales! Even if you're technically just standing still, in reality your whole body is working when you're singing.  Your muscles are active from your head to toes as you stand straight and tall.  Your blood is pumping and your abdominal muscles are definitely engaged as you inhale a …
