I teach piano in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play a certain style like Funk, or Blues, or how to approach a classical sonata. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

So said my 10 year old son after his first lesson with Buzz. The same kid who had been begging to quit taking piano lessons with his former teacher situation.
Buzz is a master of "following the student's inspiration." Rather than force a lesson sequence out of a book, Buzz observes the student's own thinking about the music experience and tailors fun learning objectives within or close to the student's inspiration. As a result, my son is much more willing to practice, and has recently "composed" his own piece of music, learned about different styles, and absorbed an impressive amount of music theory. Buzz is highly recommended for any student who has musical aptitude, but requires the right motivation and inspiration."

I learned to be more disciplined to study piano, no matter how much talent I had.
He told me that I had to study even more and he encouraged me so much.
When I studied with him, I thought that I knew it enough about music, but I realized how much I needed to learn."

Piano pedals are levers which alter the sound of the piano in a variety of different ways. The three types of pedals most pianos have are, from right to left: a sustain pedal, a sostenuto pedal, and a soft pedal. Note: Some digital keyboards may only have one - the sustain pedal - which you can plug into the keyboard. As you get more comfortable at the piano, you may start to wonder about these three pedals at the bottom. What do the pedals on a piano do? You'll find the answers in t …

Piano lessons are a great investment, but what if you don't own a piano? Is it really necessary, or will a smaller, more manageable keyboard do the trick? The first question you'll want to ask yourself is how committed you are with your lessons. Obviously, a full piano is a big investment - in terms of both money and space.
