My approach is fun, simple, and easy to understand. I focus on getting a strong foundation and excellent first experience with music. The child will be given a lesson and theory book to work from, but will also be encouraged to play music they personally like. This keeps the child motivated to play and adds an element of fun! These songs can then be used in our recitals, for auditions, or put in their personal repertoire book.

I had to cancel my granddaughter's piano lessons with Karen S. due to family and personal reasons associated with the limitations and restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Karen is an excellent piano instructor. She has a kind and approachable manner, with just the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. My 11-year-old granddaughter loved taking lessons from Karen. When my granddaughter applied for entrance as a piano major at a school of the arts, Karen provided her with exceptional assistance and support both preparing for her acceptance into the school and also enabling my granddaughter's advancing piano proficiency and learning. I recommend Karen to anyone looking for piano lessons with a kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable and talented piano instructor.

Karen and I shared one of those truly remarkable situations, we hit it off right away! We found out we have many things in common, but I also found that her style of teaching fits me perfectly . I left my lesson knowing I had made the right decision in returning to the piano. Looking forward to doing something just for myself...with Karen's help.

I emphasize developing a strong foundation in technique and ear training that will carry over to any musical genre, from world-renowned classical repertoire, to classic rock, jazz, and folk, to children's songs or your favorite radio hits from today.
I am dedicated to unlocking every student's musical potential, at any age or experience level, whether the student is just beginning to explore the keyboard or is preparing for an important audition. But more than experience and insight, I teach students to use music as a vehicle for creativity and expression, and develop a sense of true musicianship that goes beyond playing all the correct notes and the right time.

About Lilia

Hello, my name is Lilia! I have over a decade experience in teaching and offer private lessons in guitar, piano, and voice with a balance between theory, technique, and and ear training to help you play the songs you love to listen to. I created my own lesson book for guitar and am currently wo

She does "unclean" vocals in her band, Karkaza but is super knowledgeable on regular singing. After only a couple months, I'm beginning to see some progress despite my years singing improperly.

"Grace was an extremely nice teacher. I was an adult, beginner student. She taught me all the necessary basics as well as including songs in my lessons that I had sought out and wanted to learn. When she teaches you, she takes into account your musical taste/preference in choosing which pieces you will work on. Her patience is outstanding when you struggle and her ability to give you confidence in your playing style is an addition that makes the experience wonderful and everlasting. I highly recommend Grace, as her I've seen her work with both adults and children and she is capable of altering her plans in order to make them more specific to each individual rather than grouping us all into the same category."
