About Chrissy
Originally born in Germany, Chrissy developed a passion for music, language and teaching early on. Right out of High School she helped her mother, who was an educator at that time, write and stage-manage a children's Musical which found great response from the audience. During her Music studies in the Netherlands she was offered an internship at the local Music School which she gratefully accepted and where she enjoyed her first voice coaching experience. There she was also nominated as one of the most promising young singer/songwriters at the LUX Festival in Nijmegen. Over the years she was blessed with more and more private students in voice as well as piano. During her stay in New York she received the opportunity to work with a Broadway show ensemble ("Dreamgirls") as a Music Director on their different harmonic parts. She's proudly b
een a member of the Music of Oz Studio staff in Crown Point, Indiana since Jan. 2011 and is looking forward to teaching out of her home now as well. Chrissy is crazy about all her students and wants them to succeed! She's very much looking forward to working with you and having buckets of fun! :-)

Our time and resources were valued by Chrissy. She was punctual and very quickly assessed our son's strengths and challenges. Her rapport and ability to help our son delve into his own understanding to find the correct answer, rather than providing the correct responses herself, was refreshing; A natural teacher. We are looking forward to the next session.

About Tony
Want to have fun learning and playing guitar? I would love to help you do just that! I specialize in teaching beginners and intermediate guitar in all forms of rock plus pop, blues, and alternative.

I teach a proven method in allowing students to find a love of playing music that keeps them engaged in the process of learning over the years. Students should be shown how to bring their own personal style and creative expression to their performance. They should also be able to adapt and customize songs in a manner that keeps the songs recognizable and enjoyable, but produces a performance that is uniquely their own. This is a method that I strongly believe in.

Depending on the student's ability and willingness to learn, they can be up an playing songs within a short time, all while learning the correct techniques, chords, notes, scal
es, etc.

I have been playing guitar for over 35 years and have been in bands with numerous styles from rock to pop to metal to gospel. I have 15 years of teaching experience. I currently play in a local Rush tribute band: Animation – A Tribute to Rush. You might also find me somewhere on a Sunday morning playing for a local church.

We would highly recommend taking lessons from Tony G. We have two daughters who both have taken lessons with him. Our oldest daughter, who is 18 now, started taking lessons from him when she was 8. Our youngest daughter started taking lessons from him a year ago when she was 15 and is doing an amazing job! They both enjoy working with him and we, as parents have always been happy with their progress. He listens to the students and what they want to do and what they enjoy and creates a teaching environment that suits them as an individual.

About Molly
I have been teaching for 16 years: kids, teens-even beginner vocalists in their seventies! Rockers, an "Idol" finalist, church musicians, lapsed opera singers, preschoolers. ...these are just a few of singers I have worked with, in person, in the classroom, and ONLINE (I just love teaching singers all over the country and the world!) .

What you get in voice lessons with me: laughter as you learn! I have learned solid classical vocal technique from the very best . I have trained with respected opera singers who have performed with companies such as Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as leaders in vocal pedagogy. I believe everyone deserves the same useful tools- no matter what it is you like to sing!

I am patient and customize each and every lesson. Need more time on ear training? No problem . How about beginning music theory? I can
help with that, too. Are you feeling more confident, and want to focus more on song polishing and getting into the heart of your songs? Let's do it! Confidence an issue? I am a pro with very shy people. I'll get you out of your shell, relaxed, and having fun right away so we can free that voice of yours! I have worked with many singers who have been diagnosed with anxiety: you're in good hands and you can trust me with your voice.

I am also a drama teacher who has worked with groups as well as individuals. Currently, I am the drama instructor at a Montessori School. I love working with beginning acting students! I'll assist with monologue prep, improvisation, voice for the stage, body awareness, and more. I love being on stage and want you to see how fun it is to jump in and let go,too!

I am a constant student in the world of theatre. I am currently taking many courses with the Drama Teacher Academy, and just received a certificate for monologue work ! Currently studying more improv and musical theatre techniques. I want my students to have as many skills as possible, no matter where their love for theatre or music takes them.

If you're interested in beginner ear training or music theory, I'd love to help you with that as well. I present it in a no-nonsense and fun manner! I'll provide you with simple worksheets to increase your confidence in learning the language of music, as well as run you through increasingly challenging patterns and sight reading for the ear training. Don't be afraid: I make it easy and customize it all. I used to be scared of theory,too- so I know what works!

I have been singing for over 20 years. Performances with the Lira Ensemble and Opera on Tap Chicago, and in master classes with international opera stars Alan Held and Lorna Haywood. Coaching with Collaborative Works Chicago and Rossini Opera Festival. Additional studies in Rock Vocals, Voice Care, Improvisational Comedy, Holistic Voice, Acting, Foreign languages, Dalcroze, Speaking Voice for Singers, , Commercial Vocal Styles/Belting with Lisa Popeil, teacher mentoring workshop with Maestro David Jones. Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Additional workshops in Vocal Pedagogy with David Sabella-Mills, Jeannie LoVetri. Dr. Karen Prokop, Melissa Cross (the queen of healthy scream technique!), Sheri Sanders Rock the Audition training), and Chicago Cabaret Professionals.

Certified CoreSinging Instructor- one of only a few in the U.S. trained by Meribeth Dayme, PhD, respected clinician and authority in vocal pedagogy and author of "The Singing Book".

Completed John Henny's New Science of Singing course.

My students do a variety of great things! One was a top 12 "American Idol" finalist. Current students perform in musicals, top rated choirs, and professional rock , jazz, and blues bands. Many have won awards for their singing at competitions such as NATS. Students of mine have also been accepted to prestigious performing arts high schools for both drama and music, as well as undergraduate music programs in the US and Europe.

I think if you can speak, you can sing. Everyone can and should sing! Don't let anything hold you back. I am a people person that is very passionate about music and singing, and want to be the teacher you'll trust with your voice. Come laugh and learn with me!

About Voytek
Hi, my name is Voytek and I love music! I currently do over 200 shows a year and in addition to performing as a soloist, I play in 2 gigging ensembles. Thanks to music, I've been able to meet many incredible people and travel all over the world to Germany, New York, Switzerland, Washington DC and the Dominican Republic. My goal is to inspire my students and share with them my passion for music so they can also experience how wonderful and rewarding it really is. Let's rock some jams!

*** Lesson Details ***
While teaching lessons, I like to keep the atmosphere relaxed but productive. I utilize many proven traditional teaching techniques (for example: scales, theory, exercises, drills and prepared pieces) however, I also try to keep things fresh with fun backing tracks and music theory games to keep students engaged. I am also ver
y flexible and open to suggestions, so I encourage students to ask questions and let me know if they want to learn a specific song or musical concept.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The studio is equipped with an 88-key digital piano, drum set, music stands, recording equipment and a PA system. Plenty of parking available, either in the driveway or on the street.

*** Travel Equipment ***
In order to teach at a student's home I will need a quiet room/area where we can concentrate on our studies. If the student is taking drum or piano lessons, we will need a drum kit or piano/keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
Trumpet - Jazz & Classical

Drums - Everything from Jazz to Rock, Waltz, Cha-Cha, Metal etc.

About Eric
Hi.
I'm Eric and I own a Music Lesson Studio in Elgin, IL.

I specialize in working with beginners of any age as well as advanced students who are interested in taking their playing to the next level. Here are some of the things I like to focus on.

Child beginners: Learning to read music. Building confidence and self esteem through learning to play guitar. General music education. Teaching children songs they enjoy to listen to.

Adult Beginners: Learning to play popular rock songs. Chord strumming. Having a nice, relaxing, no pressure lesson.

Advanced students: Learning to read music at a professional level. Lead guitar. Jazz improvisation.

I'm a professional, full time musician and educator and my guitar has been paying my bills my entire adult life. I have real world, professional experience playing and teaching guitar
as well as bass guitar, drums, piano, mandolin and more on countless gigs here in Northern, IL. I teach between 30-50 private students per week. I have taught hundreds of students in the past 12 years how to reach their musical goals. I've played tons of theater. I played guitar, mandolin, and drums as a swing musician for the Chicago Production of Jersey Boys at the Bank of America Theater in 2008. In 2014 I played a lot theater gigs for local productions such as Little Shop of Horrors (bass), Hands on a Hardbody (Guitar, Steel/Slide) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (guitar). I grew up as a gigging rock n roll/blues guitar player, but my heart is in jazz. I am confident and fluent in, and have gigged most styles of guitar playing.

I met with Eric at his studio in Elgin, and he was extremely friendly and welcoming. He gave me a very good and informational lesson on some specific musical questions I had about progressing in my saxophone career. He gave me specific instructions on places to visit, useful websites, and names of people. This information may seem trivial, but I was at a personal stopping point on some issues, and Eric provided the tools for me to continue. I highly recommend Eric to anyone looking to learn what it means to be a professional.

About Molly
15 years ago, I started learning to play piano and began my life-long pursuit of music. This pursuit has led me in a wide variety of directions. Today, I am a doctoral student at Wheaton Graduate School, and enjoy playing and teaching piano in my free time.

I have a passion for a wide variety of styles of music. For several years, I played piano professionally for weddings, shows, and musicals. I have led worship for many churches in Michigan and Connecticut. During my time at Yale, I was president of an organization called Yale Musical Cure, in which I played piano at hospitals, hospices, and benefit concerts. At Yale, I also gained teaching experience, and have loved teaching students ever since.

My teaching style varies from student to student. Music is a wonderfully diverse subject and every student has her or his own aspirati
ons. I will do my best to cater each lesson to the student's goals and interests, whether that is classical, rock, jazz, folk, country, pop or anything in between.

Lessons will vary significantly from student to student. Not only does every student have different goals in mind, they all learn differently as well. I do my best to customize my lessons for each student's goals and needs. A typical piano lesson may involve music-reading, chord studies, technical work, scale practice, theory, and of course learning songs!

I am a flexible teacher and am excited to teach students to truly understand music and enjoy playing the piano. Please reach out if you have any questions or interest in taking lessons.
