I focus on the fundamentals and on having fun playing the clarinet. In the first lessons we will concentrate on developing good embouchure and hand position so you can create a beautiful sound. We will work on a variety of music, depending on your interests. I can help you master your parts for school bands and ensembles. I welcome students at all levels, and make sure that all of my students recognize the progress they make at each lesson. I look forward to working with you!

It was only a first lesson but I can already tell I'm going to be taking more lessons with Daniel. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated. He detailed a specific plan for me to work on that isn't too rigid or boring, I'm looking forward to relearning the flute with him.

I emphasize the importance of studying bass clarinet as well as traditional clarinet to improve the skills of both instruments. Bass clarinetists will improve their embouchure strength when playing B-flat clarinet and clarinetists will improve their air support when playing bass clarinet.

About J. Erick

(hablo español) I play clarinet and bass clarinet. I have a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, a performance diploma from Boston Conservatory, and currently working on a Master of Music at DePaul University. Recently I have worked with the Milwaukee Symphony, the conductorless or

Love Dr. M! I've wanted to take voice lessons forever but I have been hesitant due to my lack of experience. Dr. M not only made me feel comfortable but also confident in the voice that I have. She's personal and warm but also very professional. She never gets frustrated with obstacles I face in my lessons; instead she helps ways to overcome them.

I've never left a lesson feeling disappointed with my ability, something I experienced with other voice teachers. I feel confident in my voice and I owe that all to Melissa. For instance, during one lessons I was feeling a little off. Rather than getting frustrated she helped me focus on great ways to approach singing when not feeling your best. Dr. McCann rocks!

If you are looking for a voice teacher new or experienced I would definitely recommend Dr. McCann. Top notch lessons and overall awesome woman!
Kassondra
Dr. M. is a phenomenal teacher who does a great job customizing her lessons to the needs of the student. She has helped me make amazing progress with my voice, and just as importantly has helped me gain the confidence to be able to sign.

Her lessons are fun, effective, and very positive. All of which help the student learn more and get more out of the lesson. I highly recommend Dr. M. as a teacher to anyone (at any level) who is interested in becoming a better singer.

The greatest joy in teaching a musical instrument is seeing the student learn, develop and eventually evolve into a proficient musician. Each lesson that I teach focuses on theory and harmony, and also includes songs that the student wants to learn. Incorporating ear training, sight reading, scales, chords and improvisation will also be part of the music curriculum. I vow to make learning the piano or keyboard a fun and educational experience!

About Joseph

I began studying the piano at the age of seven and have taken lessons for fifteen years. My teachers Lillian Dickstein and Dr. Richard Vallis were both Juilliard graduates. In addition, I studied jazz improvisation, arranging, and composition with Angelo Mussolino. I also have worked as a Director

"I took lessons from Trevor Perrmann for about 3 years, and I have learned a lot. In that time, I had lessons from Trevor in Classical Guitar, Piano, Electric Guitar (everything from pop to jazz), and I also learned a lot about music theory. I've taken music lessons from 5 different teachers, and my lessons with Trevor were some of the most productive and fun in my life."

"Rob is very knowledgable with regard to the cello--he and my 16 year old son hit it off immediately! He asked my son what he wanted to work on and then they spent the next 45 minutes working on those things. After the lesson, we worked out a continuing schedule of classes for the next few months. We are very happy with Rob as a tutor for my son and equally happy with TakeLessons!"

"Living in a mountain town, I didn't have any options for lessons in high school besides online. Caleb was absolutely fantastic as a teacher, and really got me solid in the foundations of trumpet playing. He helped me make all-state band 3 times during high school, and guided me through the college audition process. I am now studying trumpet performance at the University of Denver, and Caleb had a huge hand in helping me get to where I am today!"

"Maria was my first private cello instructor and I studied with her for 2 years. She is an extremely kind and warm teacher who made every lesson very enjoyable and immensely educational. She was very open to my ideas as well as my wants and needs as far as playing repertoire and pacing. It is rare to be taught by a professional performer that is quite so active in the area they teach; Maria's experience performing professionally has obviously given her a perspective that is valuable to any of us who want to excel at an instrument. It is a joy to see her perform and learn from her that way as well. I and all of her students had the opportunity to get our own performing experience in her recitals, which were fun and important to my musical growth. I am grateful to have started my education in cello with Maria's instruction; I am much better off because of it."

"You couldn't ask for a better instructor than Caleb. He really knows the trumpet and how to play it, and manages to convey that in his teaching. My son responded really well to his calm, patient manner and felt very comfortable with him right away, which says a lot seeing as my son is fairly introverted and quiet and usually needs more time with people to get comfortable."
