I teach basic computer programming with a focus in object oriented programming as well as procedural programming. For any student new to computer science/programming this is exactly where you want to start as this application of programming is essential in all software. Java itself is especially a great language to start with for new programmers because it is class based and its implementation will inherently strengthen your ability to read and write code; this will later be of great use when transitioning to other languages. What my lessons will do for you is teach you how to write basic programs efficiently, how to write classes, and how to use classes.

I have over 15 years of university teaching experience in computer programming. My strongest programming language is Java. My teaching experience includes both introductory and advanced Java courses taught multiple times. I have mastered the basic concepts, such as if-else, loops, and arrays, and I am also familiar with more advanced concepts, such as string methods, inheritance, and GUIs. I will teach you the concepts of Java programming as well as walk through coding examples with you. I can also provide guidance for writing and debugging programs.
