I love tailoring lessons to my students! Music is personal and I want to make sure you're learning what you're interested in or need to learn in order to prepare you for auditions or keep up in groups you play in. I always ask students for a list of music they're listening to or want to learn - nothing's off limits!

While I prefer working out of Piano Adventures Method Books for piano students, I'm happy to work out of materials you already own.

About Stephanie

I started Suzuki violin lessons at the age of 3 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Music degree from UW-Milwaukee. In following years, I did post graduate work at Alverno College and went on to complete Suzuki teacher training in Suzuki Books 1-4. Besides teaching private violin, viola, and piano

Stephanie was so patient and very informative. I absolutely love her positive correction. Neither Marlee my 7 year old or myself have any knowledge of the violin and she has been excellent.

About Molly

WHO ARE YOU? You are the future star of a Lin-Manuel Miranda show, if he would just write about your life for a change! You are a business owner whose voice is tired at the end of the day (*cough* singing lessons strengthen speaking *cough*) You're a player who's on the way to becoming a sin

Molly is so amazing! She's such a positive, friendly, and encouraging teacher. She really aims to try and make it as fun and with as much ease for the student as possible. She's very hands on, and teaches by example and exercises, and makes it very easy for beginner students to jump right in. Of course she could easily help advanced students with all her expertise, but she is so easy to sing in front of, even when it's a very personal and new thing! Highly recommended. A fun, positive teacher, wonderful person!

Good habits and an excellent attitude make great cellists. It doesn't hurt to love music too. I love music and I love to share my passion with my students.

Having a teacher who is an experienced performer is an important quality in a teacher. I am a professional classical musician currently working as a freelance cellist in the Chicago area. I play with Chicago Philharmonic, the Northbrook Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Northwest Indiana Symphony, among others. Before coming to Chicago I played for 13 seasons with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

I have taught privately for over 10 years including 2 years in Paris. My teaching is a reflection of my teacher, Phillippe Muller. I studied with Msr. Muller while studying at the Paris Conservatory. Msr. Muller is currently a Professor of Cello at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.

About Wei

Even though I have been teaching and performing on the cello for most of my life, it's not all there is to who I am. I am a chef (almost--12 weeks to go), a mom, a wife. I have a cute little Tibetan Terrier that loves visitors. My husband and I love hiking in beautiful places. Studying with me

Wei is a phenomenal teacher. I've had 5 lessons so far, and in that short time she's far exceeded my expectations. She's very good at both diagnosing problems and consistently providing a diversity of effective ways to overcome them. She has high expectations and always balances pushing me to be better with a lot of positive reinforcement; I'm never made to feel any pressure at all, but I still feel I can go very far in my cello playing with Wei's sage guidance.

I'm truly ecstatic to continue studying with Wei!

If you're a beginner (like me), he makes sure you completely nail down the fundamentals to prevent any later confusion. It's also very helpful that he provides lesson recordings and short lists, summarizing what you should be practicing each week."

"5 stars...Yes...Best instructor ever!!!! I came to Franny as kind of an old dog folk performer. I had some vocal training 25 years ago. In the two months I've been seeing her its been really great. Her knowledge of anatomy and the physics of singing is quite remarkable. What I'm being asked to do makes sense to me on a scientific level. I've seen her working with kids and am touched by the level of compassion, connection and care she puts forth. For anybody reading this...don't think twice!!!"
