I like to show my students how the guitar can be a small orchestra. The possibilities of sounds and colors that it can provide is unknown to other instruments and that is what makes it so great. Unlike the piano where a small hammer hits the strings or the violin where the bow frictions them, we have to produce the entire sound on the guitar with our own hands. The process is more personal and, even though it can be harsh at times, it is always satisfying. I also try to bring a more creative part of music when studying the instrument, which keeps classes more dynamic and interesting. I bring my own experiences so that the students can relate in different levels of difficulty.

I've had three lessons with Hugo and it has been very helpful already. He has been flexible with me and is supportive and patient. I look forward to future lessons with him!

Hugo is a very patient teacher and has a lot of musical knowledge to pass along. I went to my first lesson with him without knowing anything about music or the guitar and now I already feel some confidence talking about the subject. He gradually deepens the subject and always makes sure you understood before going forward. I super recommend him!

Hugo is one of a kind. Great teacher and an amazing human being! Took lessons with him back in Boston while he was still studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and it couldn't have been better. Improved my repertoire and my technique meanly when it comes to fingerstyle. Highly recommended!

Hey there! I offer flute lessons in my home studio in Louisville, KY and online. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, am a certified music teacher, and have been teaching flute lessons for four years.

I quickly learned at a young age that I love the flute and have had amazing experiences since then that have shown me how to perform joyfully and confidently.

I know what it's like to:

--lack confidence in your playing (especially if other humans are around).
--feel the pressure of needing to "look good" and impress others all the time (all-state band, anyone?).
--become overwhelmed by comparison and perfectionism.
--feel like you'd rather do ANYTHING but practice the flute (procrastinators - I got you).

I know because I've been there.
And I know it doesn't have to be this way!

As a flutist and music educator, I have the joy of wearing many hats as a private flute teacher and sectional coach. My experience with little ones all the way up to pre-college flutists allows ...

Singing for the fun of it!

Have you always wanted to sing but somehow an inner voice said "But you cannot sing"? Well, it's time to challenge that inner voice because it's never too late. Taking a voice lesson is a great tool to break through those invisible barriers and to discover one's voice. Singing for fun is a valid reason to take voice lessons, it would help make singing more enjoyable!

We will cover how to warm-up the voice as well as the mind and the body. You will learn body stretches to get the body ready for singing, proper breathing and support for singing, and of course, you'll learn to sing songs that you want to sing.

A little about me, I have always loved singing but I did not take voice lessons until my late 30's and it changed my life. So I know a thing or two about learning to sing later in life, it can be daunting but it is oh so rewarding! In 2011, I started gigging in San Francisco where I lived for the last 14 years. I am now back living in New York and I'd

"Tony has been teaching me for nine years and he truly believes in teaching his students not only the basics of learning the guitar but why the instrument is such a privilege to play and teaches based on the students ability. He also teaches the history and evolution of the guitar and also facts that i never knew that made me very proud to play such an instrument. He sees the potential in the student and encourages them to go beyond where they think they can go and makes it happen. Tony slowly built up motivation in me to keep exploring on my own and he planted the seed of wanting to practice to the point where playing guitar became one of the most important things in my life and i do not think another teacher could have done the same thing. I started to explore YouTube and teach myself a lot of the songs i wanted to learn starting with chords, then finger picking, then adding percussion, and finally putting all three together in many arrangements. I would never have been able to figure that out or have the motivation to if it was not for the things he taught and showed me. Now he teaches me many new techniques involving flamenco and you really cannot get all of this with someone else. Some other people I know have different teachers and i can tell by the way they talk about them and what they are learning that they do not compare to mine. I am really lucky to have ended up with someone who has such commitment and I am always super excited to keep learning what he has to teach. His knowledge is endless and it blows me away what he shows me. Tony never tries to make any of his lessons boring and he definitely has a talent not many people have. I recommend Tony, 100%."

"Initially, I hired Francesca purely as a singing coach. It had been years since my last singing performance outside of my car or shower and I needed help to brush-up my technique and help me to build upon my current knowledge to grow as a singer. What I got from my lesson's with Francesca was far more than I could have imagined. In my first lesson, she posed the "genie in a lamp" scenario...if I had a genie that could grant me three wishes, what would they be. Once we talked about my goals of growing, not only as a singer, but also as a performer, songwriter, pianist, and guitar player, a door to the world of musical theory and sound singing technique swung open with such vigor, I was consumed with excitement following my first lesson. I was finally on the right path to get where I want to be as an artist.

Francesca will push and guide you as far as you need to go, but only if she knows that's your goal. She routinely checks-in to make sure we are progressing in the right direction and is a great person for suggestions (with no pressure) and to bounce new ideas off of. She is realistic, but allows you to dream-up the life you want, in regards to music. She is a God send and I am so thankful I found her as a coach.

Francesca is an amazing find and I cannot wait to see where my coaching journey leads into the world of music and performing!"
