About Carey
I have taught over 250 private voice students in Boston, CT, New York City, and Lakewood Ranch, FL. I specialize in contemporary styles ranging from musical theater, to pop, to blues, to R&B and beyond. I graduated with a professional music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I performed professionally for 15 years: as a wedding singer, on tour as a backup singer, in a musical at Carnegie Hall, with a big band at the Rainbow Room, at the Bitter End debuting my CD of original music, as a house studio vocalist for a NYC recording studio, and more. I have tons of great references available!

Carey is currently working with our 9yo daughter. She has built a wonderful rapport, is very patient, and has helped our daughter's interest in music blossom into full fruition. It's truly wonderful to see our daughter having fun doing something she loves, and it takes a special teacher to make that happen with kids. Highly recommend.

About John
Hi! My name is John. I have spent my life with the guitar, bass guitar, and the piano. Both my father and grandfather are professional musicians. I am a graduate of USF with a music degree. I regularly perform in the Tampa Bay area at some of the hottest clubs and venues with my band Cutty Jones. I teach a wide variety of styles from, blues, reggae, jazz, rock, country, and rhythm and blues. I've been teaching for over 10 years at various studios. I look forward to working with you!

Here's a look into lessons with me:
I make sure to ask each student what/who their favorite songs/artists are. I think it's very important that the songs we learn - you're familiar with. I also like to focus on theory and make it relevant to the things we are playing in each lesson. When we learn a chord or a scale I believe you will find it more meaningfu
l if it's in a song you already know. I also like to work on your specific goals. I enjoy working on technique, chord theory, scale application, and much more!

About Toni
I am a professional Double Bass player with a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Florida State University. As a proficient multi-instrumentalist, I am able to teach all stringed instruments, such as the violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, mandolin, and ukulele. With experience coaching and mentoring students who have a passion for songwriting, it has helped them become effective, dynamic, and knowledgeable songwriters.

I teach strings to students of all different ages and proficiency levels. I am a classically trained musician with 19 years experience, with 11 of those years as a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. My competency and versatility as a musician has given me the opportunity to work with children in the public school systems, after school programs, recreational centers, local events, and statewide competitions a
nd conventions.

Every instrument has a unique timbre, so I teach students what their chosen instrument's role is and what it's specific sound is used for. I believe that "practice makes progress," so I encourage each student to practice consistently and efficiently. By applying foundational techniques during practice and performance, it will aid in their continual growth and progress as a musician.

Depending on the goals and preference of the student - no matter the instrument - I highly encourage each of my students to learn to read music/chord sheets, understand and maneuver their instruments fluidly, and challenge themselves to pursue music in any and every way they can.

I firmly believe that learning technique and theoretical knowledge is essential to learning any instrument and any style. Focused practice sessions and learning how to listen actively instead of passively will shape a well-rounded musician, and as the teacher, achieving this with every student is my goal and my passion.

I very much look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

"Music is the silence between the notes." ~ Claude Debussy

I will help you be able to sit down at the piano and tap out a tune! I'm pretty "old school" when it comes to technique and reading music scores, but very innovative and creative when organizing practice material and lesson plans. Keep it interesting, move forward and learn! I will make your learning fun so you will keep coming back for more!

I assisted with children's choir at my church for over a decade and my passion is working with children and parents to further a deep love for music and learning.

I LOVEE JUDY. She has helped me grow as a musician in so many ways. She is the entire reason I became a musician and one of the most encouraging instructors I've ever encountered! Without her I wouldn't be where I am today! She has helped me not just with music but also with life, sometimes I feel like she's my second mom. I love taking lessons with her.

Judy was so patient and kind during my lessons! I had never really been into learning music, I was always more of a sports fan but I wanted to something new. Needless to say, I had NO background in anything musical. Judy was so patient with me and helped me at the speed I needed to be taught. I could not have hada a better teacher. I was able to surprise my Fiancee with a Christmas song because how much she was able to teach me. I have learned so much from her and I plan on going back to her when I want to take my piano skills to the next level. I HIGHLY recommend Judy. She was also very flexible with my schedule which is always a plus!!
