Cara is the best music teacher we've ever met. My daughter Amanda (now 6 years old) started learning piano from her 8 months ago. Before that Amanda learned piano for 1 year but didn't have good progress. Now, Not only can Amanda play piano very well, but also she can play violin well for 5 variations of Twinkle Twinkle, after only 9 violin classes from Cara. The most important thing is: Amanda is falling love with the music, which I believe will benefit her whole life. In our opinion, experience, fun, discipline and child-centered are the key to Cara's teaching success. We have met with her husband (a retired band director), and two daughters (both professional violinists), we can feel their love to the music and really admire their music skill.

Our friends thought we were crazy when they knew the fact that we need to drive 60 minutes single trip to take the weekly lesson, but after they see Amanda playing piano and violin, they think it well deserves it.

Cara is the best music teacher for kids in Metro-Orlando area. If you want your kid to fall in love with music, she is your best choice. Go Cara!

By teaching how to train your hands to just learn to play instead of mountains of memorizing, Richard is able to teach absolute beginners to play complex scales, melodies and songs in no time (if you put the practice in, of course!).

Many piano teachers love the complexity of theory, reading music, and heaps of complicated techniques. Richard makes it easy and simple, focusing on kinesthetic memory--getting your hands trained with muscle memory rather than thinking about the scale, chord, etc.

The theory he does teach is all colour-based and highly intuitive. No more counting lines on a stave of sheet music!

While his background is stronger in jazz and blues, he was able to give me a TON of useful compositional techniques for rock and classical as well.

I went from a non piano player to proficient in about 6 weeks. 15 weeks in, I'm a better piano player than one of my lifelong friends. And all without the pain in the ^%$@ of reading sheet music.

Thank you Richard, and to anyone considering him, I would strongly recommend!
Vicky

"Cole is an incredibly gifted musician and an amazing teacher. Coming from a medical background, I had less foundational knowledge compared to most piano students. However, Cole rapidly helped me build a solid foundation of practical knowledge so that, within weeks, I was able to begin composing independently. By continuing to practice the skills that he taught me, I am now able to accompany my vocals on piano for original pieces and have added a number of classic pieces to my repertoire. I would highly recommend Cole to anyone interested in mastering piano, novices and experts alike!"

My daughter wants to learn to play an electric guitar. Then, we met Steven through Take Lessons. He is very knowledgeable in teaching how to play an instrument and does so in a way so that the child can understand. Thanks a lot Steven!"

"I just finished my third lesson with Taylor. We are doing piano / digital music production hybrid course, but we are starting with learning to read sheet music as we both agree it will be a very useful skill to have down the line when I start doing my own compositions...even if my focus is digital production.

She is a fantastic teacher, explains concepts clearly, and is patient with my slow learning curve. She also very professionally handles student progress notes, and always emails copies of all relevant notes on each lesson for easy review and practice.

I'm very pleased to have started my journey into the world of music with her as my guide. Five stars."

Intro to Classical Piano Styles - Infographic

Curious about the history of classical piano music? Take a journey through history and learn about the four distinct musical periods in this lesson from Brooklyn, NY music teacher Julie P...   Musical styles are always shifting and developing. Throughout history, as musicians and famous piano composers experimented with sounds and instrument design, the music world expanded and more possibilities became evident. Early musicians started with simple melodies, sung in unison. But s …
