About S. Parker
Music became my life when I found a dusty guitar in the storage room at age 10. I owe a lot of really cool experiences to the guitar and so many of them center around learning. Teaching is fun and rewarding, but it is also my way of thanking the great teachers I've had.

-Studied Music Theory/Composition at Metropolitan State College of Denver

-Won a scholarship to the 2001 Summer Guitar Program at Berklee College of Music in Boston

-Frequent substitute at Arapahoe Community College (2004-2005)

-Teacher at St. Mary's Academy Middle School (2008-2013)

-Active member of Onsombley guitar ensemble

-Songwriter, Vocalist, Guitarist in The Penny Dreadfuls

-Creator of http://strumbystrum.com

-Takelessons teacher since 2008

The best lessons I've ever had were lessons in wh
ich I walked away saying "Man, I never KNEW that!" and it's my goal for you have that experience, too. Whether its how to play that chord or write a melody, how to get the best sound out of those stomp boxes, or when genres like shoegazer and post-rock were invented and what they sound like... there's something to be learned in every lesson.

The most important benefit of taking lessons from me is my experience. I started teaching casually as a teenager and have followed every opportunity since. My passion for music has allowed me to teach private lessons (10+ years), middle school guitar class (including a guitar ensemble), and college-level music theory classes. Extensive experience in writing, recording, and performing has only helped that passion to grow. I've developed a method to blend theory with practice every step of the way, and make the journey fun!

Parker is a great teacher & a really nice guy. I have been working with him for about 18 months, and I have come a very long way in my technical ability as well as my understanding of music theory. He has a very low key, positive approach to our lessons, which makes them relaxing and fun, but at the same time he has the ability to get me out of my "comfort zone" and doing things that are new and challenging, from dabbling in different genres to creating new arrangements of old favorite songs to diving into the theory behind iconic riffs and chord progressions.
He has become a friend and I look forward to all of our online sessions.

About Lisa
I am a Colorado Native with a Music Degree from the University of Denver. I started playing the violin in elementary school and never stopped! I picked up the Viola in college. I enjoy playing that as well.
I have been teaching group classes for the Cherry Creek School district for over 10 years and love that. I have been teaching private lessons for over 10 years as well. Both are challenging in very different ways.
I enjoy watching my students learn and grow through music.
I love playing with an orchestra and playing with a quartet. I've played with several different local groups over the years.

*** Lesson Details ***
I do not offer one size fits all lessons. I tailor my lessons to fit the needs and goals of each individual student. I use a variety of different method books based on the musical background of each studen
t.
You can expect that I will ask a bunch of questions at the beginning of your lessons, and I will try a bunch of things at first. And then will make a decision based on what I think will be the best fit.
I like to utilize what technology has to offer, and I have a keyboard and a computer available at every lesson. I use them for ear training and listening activities.
I like to make sure that music is fun, however I will expect that students are doing the work at home, so at home practice is expected.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room w/ violin, piano, keyboard, music stands, and seating for parents.
Please note that I do have a dog in the home, please let me know if you have allergies.

*** Specialties ***
I teach beginning and intermediate violin. I teach a classic style.

My daughter, Katie, started her first violin lessons this year with Lisa. I wasn't sure if she was going to enjoy playing the violin as she is only 6 yrs old and pretty lively (hard to keep her still!), but Katie loved Lisa from the start. Lisa is friendly, patient, and easy going with Katie. Within a couple of months, Katie was already practicing her second song and sight reading her music. Lisa is a great violin teacher!

very patient teacher!

Lisa is very patient! My son is a typical 8 yr old boy with lots of energy and she is very good at keeping him focused. She is also very good at working on 1 thing at a time and not overwhelming students with no music experience. I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning violin.

I hold a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance and a Masters in Vocal Performance and Voice Pedagogy. Singing and teaching are my two passions! I am a classically trained singer with an operatic lyric soprano voice. Opera is my first love, but I also like and enjoy singing musical theatre, jazz and other contemporary genres. In fact, for quite a while I taught at a Berklee International Network School in South America, where jazz was the main emphasis of my students. I enjoy teaching students from any age and any background. From beginners to more advanced singers, as they all present some form of challenge and different rewarding experiences.
Coincidentally, I have come to teach mostly teenagers and young adults, sort of specializing in college audition preparation where %100 of my students who have applied to attend music school have suc
cessfully been accepted. Most of them under full tuition scholarships to pursue singing careers. Some of them are currently attending the University of Denver, CU Boulder, University of the Redlands, University of British Columbia, Universitat Mozarteum (Salzburg). However, I also have experience teaching senior citizens from a community choir and members from an all visually impaired choir. I have never encountered any major difficulty while teaching students with special needs. This experiences have actually made me become a better more creative educator.
My lessons are focused on healthy emission of the voice working on breath support and adequate placement of the voice according to the style. Once we have gone through a diagnostic and discuss the student´s goals, I prepare a routine of vocal exercises tailored for the individual needs and skill level of the student as well as negotiate on the repertoire that the student wants to sing.
If teaching in the student´s home, I expect for the student to have at least a basic music keyboard for pitch matching purposes. I also expect my students to practice in between lessons so that every time we meet we can add another layer of knowledge. This will bring gratification and fulfillment to both of us!

Dani is a really special instructor for me! She helped me realize how big my passion for singing was because, since the beginning, she has inspired me with her singing, passion, and knowledge. She was my teacher for 4 years and she prepared me to get into CU Boulder’s School of Music. With her guidance I improved not only my vocal technique, but my musicality, acting skills, languages, and every single aspect that a singer needs to be a professional artist. She was really specific and patient about my growth as an opera singer and she always helped me find the perfect repertoire for me. I can say that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her. Dani saw the best in me even when I didn’t, and I am still learning a lot from her.

Daniela has been my favorite vocal trainer so far. Besides her expirience and knowledge about the voice, she took time to really listen to my voice and identify things I was doing wrong, or things I did not even know how to do. She empowered me so much that now I actually use my whole body to sing, and I also feel more confident to do challenging things, with my voice, with no harm. I feel that there is a before and after, in my voice, thanks to Daniela as my teacher.

Dani is really the best instructor ever. When I started taking lessons with her my goal was to prepare for a college audition. Immediately she helped me identify where I could improve my technique and offered a variety of exercises that suited me best. She is familiar with tons of classical repertoire as well as jazz and popular songs. I really enjoyed that she made my lessons challenging enough to help me grow musically, but always working on something within my reach. She also has many incredibly useful performance hacks to help get out the best of you when its time to be on stage. I am happy to say that all the time and our hard work was well spent. After I auditioned for the college I wanted I received not only the acceptance letter, but also a near full tuition musical merit based scholarship. Thank you so much Dani!

About Gregory
I have been playing music for over 30 years, and have been teaching music for almost half of that time. I have performed and recorded throughout the Midwest in a variety of cover and original bands ranging in styles from metal, rock, to R&B/Jazz and Blues. I teach these styles as well.

The most important thing for me as a music instructor is to get to know the student. I then tailor the lesson in a way that will resonate with the personality of the student. Finding the right balance of technique, theory, and fun, my goal is to have the student leave the lesson eager to go home, practice and come back for more. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

I took lessons from Greg when I was much younger say 12-13 for a year or more. He taught me a lot and had me playing guitar really fast, I always tried to do what he asked and he never ever got frustrated if I did it wrong or couldn't play what we were learning right away correctly!. Also all of what he taught me stayed in my head all these years some how and I kinda progressively got better and better!. I'm pretty happy with my playing and a lot of others are to!. Greg has something special about his students and teaching them to play the guitar correctly no matter what or how long it takes, he cares about you as a student. You get out what you put in ,but be patient cause it also takes time. But you'll see the difference later down the road that Greg was the right teacher for learning to play and the theory behind the guitar.....I recommend him as a great guitar teacher!. I myself take lessons from him again at the age of 38 , I was able to find him on Facebook after all these years and we do lessons via Skype, I'm a very happy student, very happy!. And I thank Greg Gladman for that!.
