I have taught over 500 students how to paint! Each painting lesson is tailored to your interest and where you want to develop skill. My schooling background is in figure painting, modern painting techniques, color theory and composition. I have been trained by masterful painters from all over the world and look forward to sharing all that I have learned with you.

In my classes you can expect to learn both the basics and advanced material:
-Painting realistic skin tones, composition,using a grisaille and verdaccio, glazing, methods and materials of the Old Masters, achieving a likeness in portraiture, accurate color mixing and matching, the use and preparation of painting mediums, translating what you see or envision onto the canvas successfully and much more. I enjoy teaching people that are passionate about art, regardless of their skill level.

Hi! Are you frustrated with muddy and poor color choices in your paintings, the inaccurate drawing of your subject, and overall mediocrity? I will help you overcome the fear and frustration of painting with some sound color theory and drawing methods. You can learn to apply colors that are bold and fresh. As artists who continually learn, I believe there is no wrong in exploring colors, When we continue to paint, we learn what didn't work and apply what does work. That is how we improve! The more we practice in small steps and the greater our success!

I teach all techniques of oil painting, from painting fast and loose to the style of the old masters'. I work with my students to identify their painting goals (I teach all levels and do not require any prior artistic experience!) and create a custom lesson plan to help develop their painting skillset. I teach the very basics of how to mix paints all the way to more complex portfolio reviews and critiques of painting concepts. I believe anyone can learn to paint when given the right tools!
