Sarah is very patient with my daughter. She tailors the class to her personality. She gets her to do the class in a fun way. She makes the class enjoyable but still focuses on her growth. She pushes Alexa enough to keep her going. She motivates her to learn. My daughter looks forward to her lessons. Recommend!

About Gino
Hi future guitar players. My name is Gino and I have been playing guitar since I was 16 years old. I'm 32 now and still playing with no end in sight. Out of all the genres of music my favorite has been Rock and Roll. I love it to death. I can remember learning songs by some of my favorite bands such as Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Nirvana, Oasis, Black Sabbath, Ac/Dc, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, Motorhead, etc and the joy I got that a song that I once thought I could not learn I did. Yet like all things in life it took time and dedication, and that is all I ask for from my students. I have a Bachelors degree in music at Whittier College and also have an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts at Fullerton JR. College. I’m here and ready to teach how to play like your Heroes.

*** Lesson Details ***
The only thing I ask from my studen
ts is time and dedication. Not everyone starts out great on guitar, or any other instruments for that matter. It takes time but if they stick to it then they can achieve anything. The structure of my lessons is very simple. We first begin with standard cords such E, G, A, and so on and putting them into chord progressions. Once that has been achieved we then go on to learning simple songs. They can bring in song books by some of their favorite bands or artist, and if they want I can also begin showing them scales. Such as blues scales, major, minor, harmonic minor, and a little bit of theory too. But the most important things is that we keep the lessons fun. So if you want to have learning the guitar and learn songs by some of your favorite bands than let’s do it.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Office: large couch, chairs, music stand, copier, small amp, cables, room for parents to sit in during the lesson

*** Specialties ***
Basic guitar, Acoustic guitar, Rock guitar and Blues guitar.

About Miles
Miles is a Southern California-based performer and educator. He was recently appointed to the nationally and internationally touring brass quintet, Presidio Brass. He is also 3rd trumpet of the Santa Barbara Symphony, and a frequent performer at the Disneyland Resort including the new Disneyland Band. Miles is also former Principal trumpet of the American Youth Symphony, a premier training ensemble based in Los Angeles. He earned his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance at California State University Fullerton in 2015, studying under Barry Perkins, Principal Trumpet of the Pacific Symphony. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance where he studied with Dr. David Scott.

As an educator, Miles is energetic and keeps lessons positive, varied, and always with a goal i
n mind. There is a constant emphasis on building fundamentals and using those as a foundation for making great music. Not everyone learns the same way so it is his aim to be adaptable to the student's needs to help them understand and process the concepts behind good trumpet playing. He has taught all ages and skill levels, privately and in group settings, and can be a valuable asset in helping you achieve your musical pursuits. Two of his students have been placed as the principal trumpet in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and received generous music scholarships for college.

Miles is an active freelance performer and is comfortable playing in all genres and ensembles, from the back of an orchestra, in a chamber ensemble or solo performance, to commercial and lead work. He has performed with the New West Symphony, San Diego Symphony, San Diego Pops, California Philharmonic, Redlands Symphony Orchestra, Riverside Philharmonic, Golden State Pops Orchestra, San Bernardino Symphony, Dream Orchestra, Pacific Brass Ensemble, the Disneyland Band, and many other groups throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. From 2011-2013, he played lead trumpet for Carnival Cruise Lines in numerous showbands performing for their full-scale production shows and live sets. He has performed with Persian pop singer, Shahkar, Chris Botti, and Mannheim Steamroller among others.

Miles received numerous musical and academic awards and had many opportunities while at the University of Redlands. He was a member of the University of Redlands Faculty Brass Quintet from 2008 – 2011. He was awarded the School of Music Director’s Award, Performer’s Award, Theodore Presser Scholarship, Freshman and Sophomore Honor Awards, and was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society among many others. In 2011, Miles performed the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra as a result of winning the school's concerto competition. Miles also performed in the school's President's Honor Recital the previous two years. Also in 2011, he was one of the grand prize winners of the Redlands Bowl Young Artists Competition and a featured soloist at the Redlands Bowl, having been a finalist the previous year. He was a winner of the Antelope Valley Symphony Concerto Competition and co-principal of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra during its 2006 – 2007 season.

Sound, projection, reading, technique, flexibility, repertoire, and range can all be developed if the student earnestly wants to take the time to develop them. A practice regimen is designed for each individual student depending on their strengths, weaknesses, and goals.

*** Studio Equipment ***
- music and method books
- music stand and chairs
- tuner and metronome
- student must bring own instrument and mouthpiece

*** Specialties ***

Claire is a very good teacher. Highly recommended. The pacing of the lessons is both challenging and comfortable. I appreciate her demos and duets with me as these help me to practice listening and anticipate playing with others in the future. I've had six 45-minute lessons so far and I feel I've learned a lot and have improved significantly, but I'm also aware of the areas that need improvement. I look forward to continuing to take lessons with Claire.

In-studio lessons take place in my home studio in Stanton, CA. Availability is limited, so please use the Ask-A-Question feature if a time you'd like isn't currently available.

**In-home Lessons**
Currently, I'm traveling to the Southbay area on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Emo has been an excellent teacher who taught me not only vocal techniques and exercises (which boosted the range and fullness of my voice), but also various aspects of music production and performance, such as mixing songs in Logic and using a vocal processor when performing. I'd definitely recommend to anyone who not only wants to improve their singing skills, but wants to become a more skilled all-around musician.

About Rachel
I provide private instruction for beginner to advanced trombone, bass trombone, and music theory students. My goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere in which students can feel free to express themselves through the music they play. I keep students mentally engaged by asking them questions that are intended to direct them toward creating a clear, personal interpretation of their music. This gives the student a sense of artistic authority and ownership over their playing and creates more enjoyment in daily practicing and playing. I advocate for students listening to as much music as they can, whether it is a live concert or a recording, which I view as an essential key to swift musical development.

Rachel is a fantastic teacher and tutor. Her expansive knowledge of music theory and ear training contributes to her vast musical ability. Not only is she a great performer, but she is able to break down the music and explain it in a variety of ways in order to effectively teach students at any level. Most importantly, Rachel is an advocate for students expressing their own musical voice. She will not tell a student exactly how to play a given piece, but rather she will teach them the necessary tools for the student to play well, and allow them to explore their own musical interpretation from there.

Outside of music, Rachel is a genuine and kind-hearted person. She is understanding and empathetic, and this carries over into her teaching as well. That being said, Rachel holds herself and her students to high standards. Students will hear improvement in their tone, technique, and musicality as they work with Rachel. I give her my highest recommendation for all subjects.
