For 'classic' Broadway show tunes check out "The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology" published by Hal Leonard. Bring sheet music to start with from your favorite Broadway musicals and movie songs - found in music stores or on-line. Both of these styles benefit from the strong tone and great delivery of a classical singing technique.
I recommend adults take 45" - 1 hour lessons weekly for skill building.

About Julia

I have a Master’s in Opera Performance from the Boston and New England Conservatories and graduated from Vocal Performance programs at Boston University and Western Washington University. My daughter has learned so much with Julia in the past few weeks. It's been a true pleasure to witness the progress. They have worked on sight reading, tone, physical posture, and many other aspects of singing and sound production. Julia is a very caring and supportive instructor. She is full of enthusiasm and humor, and this shows in her choice of singing materials. We look forward to having more lessons with her!

"I started taking lessons from Will when I was 15, and continued with him for about 3 years until I moved away. the first time I talked with him on the phone, he asked me several questions about what I wanted to play, what I liked to listen to, my goals as far as the instrument and then used this information to put together a personalized lesson plan that taught me not only what I wanted to learn, but what I needed to learn to become a real guitar player. I consider Will a personal friend and mentor, and whenever I go to visit him, I find that he is still teaching me, years later. If I have any regrets from my time under Will's instruction, it's that I never truely appreciated the quality and consistency of my lessons. If you are looking for the best guitar instructor from beginner to expert, you've found him and you won't be disappointed.

A side story,
2 years after I stopped taking lessons from Will, I stopped into a guitar store in Tempe and over heard a dad asking two of the employees about lessons for his son. They directed the man to a bulletin board covered In cards from local teachers and said " grab one that says Will Geiswite"."

"Family Music Teacher

We have enjoyed having Maureen as our family’s music teacher. My son started taking flute lessons with Maureen in 2009 and advanced through the levels very quickly. He plays flute in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). He also plays saxophone and tried out and was selected for the Alameda County Honor Band. Maureen worked with him on jazz theory and improvisation and he plays in the jazz band at school. With Maureen, he worked through all six levels of Master Theory and is ready for the college level AP Music Theory at 14 years old. He also completed the MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) Composer’s Today workbooks and used http://www.noteflight.com to write his own music and participate in composition contests. My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons with Maureen and has been doing a great job. She is playing classical music on violin in school and in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). On piano she is learning to play the blues and jazz, as well as learning theory and composition. Both of my children have been able to successfully participate in the LaHonda Summer Music Camp. We have had a great experience with Maureen throughout the past 5 years and have enjoyed seeing her each week."

Over the two years that I have worked with Larry, I have heard my sound get better, my playing ability get better, and just enjoyed playing the trumpet so much more! I greatly recommend taking lessons with Larry!"
