About Susan
I have been performing since the age of three. At the age of seven, I began classical vocal lessons. When I was 13, I moved my vocal training at the local University becoming the youngest classical vocal student.

After years of participating in musical theatre productions, I landed a job in a guitar shop that lead to a big shift in my musical interests. I left my small town, the theatre and my classical background behind and began fronting both Country and Rock bands, even singing along side Juice Newton, The Oak Ridge Boys, Glen Campbell, Sugarland, and Trick Pony on stage at the Porterfield Country Music Festival in 2005, which has in years past drawn nationally known country music artists such as Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, and Loretta Lynn.

At age 19, I had an acoustic act which landed me a guest spot on 'The Tyra Banks Show
.' I have been a featured performer at Chicago's House of Blues, as well as some of the most popular hotspots in Wrigleyville.

In most recent years, I have been behind the scenes as a vocal coach in Chicago, eventually moving to Southern CA.
I have four children, my youngest daughter has Down syndrome, and when I'm not singing, I'm an outspoken advocate for children with disabilities.

Whether you are looking to learn to project, or how to make it through an entire show without blowing your voice--I'm your gal! Because I cater to all experience levels, I like to focus on individual goals of the student and build on those.

The biggest thing that I hope to give my students, is confidence. Whether or not music becomes a career for them, or just something to help get them through their day-- my goal is to show them that they can learn something new, they can accomplish things that they never thought they could do, they can sing for friends, join a band, play a challenging song, sing the high note they never thought they'd hit.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Simple PA set-up.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide everything. If there is a particular piece that you want to work on that I don't have, I ask that you provide that.

Suzie is extremely knowledgeable

Suzie is an amazing teacher! I am so impressed with her knowledge of music! In just the short time I've been taking voice lessons I can feel my voice getting stronger. She has taught me the correct way of breathing, projecting and standing. She's always giving me positive feedback, which is so helpful. I would recommend Suzie to anyone who is serious about taking voice lessons!

About Aaron
As a 15-year-old teen I was headed nowhere. I had no interests and was failing my freshman year of high school. Then I started playing the guitar and fell in love with music. As I studied under my dad, who was a professional musician, my mind started to open up, my attention span grew. My problem solving skills and comprehension improved to such a degree that my grades went up to the honor level. Since I ended up graduating with a 4.0, I preach and stress the importance of learning a musical instrument.
I got into teaching only 4 years after I first picked up the guitar and immediately found that it was what I wanted to do for a living. Oh sure! Playing in bands is fun but I enjoy seeing my students grow in and with music most of all. Having over 20 years’ experience as a professional musician and teacher. I have been teaching exclusive
ly in the High Desert area for the last 16 years. I started at a music store in Apple Valley called Hi Note Music then taught at Tom's for 14 years. Now I teach at Rollover Beethoven's Music store in Hesperia and out of my studio in Apple Valley.

*** Lesson Details ***
I can teach almost any style of music including Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Country and R&B. I stress the fundamentals: technique, reading, theory, ear training but in addition, I will give you all the licks and tricks you want. The important thing is to develop good habits because bad habits take a long time to overcome. I will provide you with the tools to play anything your heart desires and the ability to teach yourself.

*** Studio Equipment ***
separate studio w/ seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
Have portable sound system and lap top computer. All the student needs are their instrument.

*** Specialties ***
I have written methods that I have found to work very well in teaching the student all aspects of music and how to apply it towards the instrument. My methods include the essentials in reading, finger exercises, theory, and ear training. I like to prepare my students for any and all genres. The key is to teach the student how to teach themselves.

About Katie
I have been teaching young students piano for six years. I have completed my education for a music education degree, and am the former president of the Cal State Piano Society. I have been playing piano for seventeen years and love every aspect of music. My goal is to pass my passion for music onto my students, and allow them to develop a deep appreciation and understanding for all genres.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a strong believer in making the learning process fun and enjoyable. I want my students to be motivated to learn and practice as much as possible. My teaching style consists of starting with the basics (technique, theory, and reading music) then graduating to style and phrasing. My students will always leave our lessons feeling accomplished and confident. Learning an instrument is hard work, but with enough effort an
d commitment, anything is possible!

***Cancellation Policy***
Please notify me at least ONE HOUR before the lesson if you need to cancel to avoid charges. I may or may not be able to reschedule, but I do my best to be as flexible as possible.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Baldwin Upright Piano

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my students to provide a piano and the required materials (i.e. metronome and music books)

*** Specialties ***
I believe that technique is very important when it comes to piano. I start with teaching the basic scales, hand positions, and good posture. Then I begin teaching music theory, in which the student learns how to read notes, rhythms, dynamics, etc. Once the student becomes proficient in reading and technique, I give them more difficult pieces in order to work on style, voicing, and phrasing.

This was the 1st violin lesson for my 5 year old daughter. And it went far better than expected. Mrs. Rui is a wonderful teacher. Patient, warm, and very talented with teaching young children. I was impressed to see how much my daughter learned in only 45 minutes. When it was over my daughter said, "That was so much fun!". My daughter is looking forward to her next lesson.

About Laura
Hey Ya'll!
I'm Laura, and I grew up in a log cabin in Kentucky, no joke! My three sisters and I sang in the church where my Mama played organ, and our family had a bluegrass band. I learned piano at an early age from my Grandpa Joe, and played French Horn and Mellophone in Marching Band and Concert band through Middle school and High School. At the University of Kentucky I was in some of the best Collegiate choirs in the country, and thats also when I started playing in my own band.
I moved to Europe when I was 20, and started playing street music and performing locally. Well, that turned into me having my own variety show called the Southern Flavor Show, and touring quite a bit, all over Europe.
Now, I'm settled in Redlands CA, and work part-time in the Music Industry in Los Angeles at one of the worlds leading recording studios.
We record all kinds of music there, but my favorite music is and will always be the Bluegrass, Folk, and Country music that I grew up with. I'm excited about getting to share my love of music with you!
My main goal is for you to stay inspired and for this to be fun- music technique and practicing can be challenging, but we will find ways to keep you interested and motivated, by listening to lots of recorded music, and making sure you really love the songs you are learning. This kind of music is made for playing together, so if you would like I can get you up to speed on how to play with others- in a jam or performance setting.
