About Nicole
Lessons with Nicole are like none other! Students will learn methods of MDH Breathing Coordination* as the foundation of proper singing. This will bring clarity to common concepts like "support" and "placement." MDHBC is also very beneficial for musicians, actors, public speakers, dancers, and athletes!

Nicole has been singing her entire life, and began training in high school in 1990. In 1997, she graduated from "Citrus Singers" at Citrus College, where she received extensive training in vocal technique in a variety of styles, from opera to pop, and Broadway to jazz. She is educated in music theory and history, stage presence, dance, drama, etc. Since 1996, she has performed professionally in numerous musical theater productions all over southern California and beyond. She also has lots of experience singing with live bands, and Chris
tmas caroling in various venues including Disneyland. She has been teaching private voice lessons since 1998, and LOVES to see her students grow! Nicole has a lot to share with students who are serious about singing professionally, or students who just want to sing for fun!

*** Lesson Details ***
Private voice lessons are customized to each student's needs and goals. I will teach you warm-ups and proper techniques in order to protect your voice from being damaged, and to free your voice to reach its full potential. I can also help you explore a variety of musical styles, as well as learn performance tips, microphone technique, music theory, and audition skills.
*There is a hands-on component to MDH Breathing Coordination, due to the goals of reducing body tension (shoulders, neck, etc) and recoordinating the breathing mechanism (ribs, diaphragm, etc). Minors must be accompanied by an adult, should they choose to include MDHBC in their lessons. For more info on this highly effective method, please Google it. :)

Lessons with Nicole are:

*FUN! Nicole is kind and encouraging. She makes learning fun, and has respect for all students regardless of skill level. Students feel comfortable and relaxed.

*EFFECTIVE! As long as the student attends all lessons, and practices during the week, results will come quickly!

We have been seeing Nicole for many years! She has helped my daughter the most with breathing techniques. She's always so positive, even when my daughter is feeling insecure, Nicole helps her push through to find her range and overcome her insecurities. My daughter always leaves Nicole feeling like she's ready to conquor anything. Nicole is the best in helping my daughter find her chest voice from head voice as well. We have been to 3 other vocal coaches and we continue to make our way back to Nicole because no one out there is better!

About Elisa
I am a patient and creative pianist who loves music and loves teaching. I have been blessed with many varied musical experiences that has ultimately enhanced my skills as a musician and a piano instructor.
My musical training began at an early age, four years, which eventually led to a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of California, Riverside. Along with my classically-trained studies, I had the opportunity to travel to several countries to study the music of many cultures. This experience further enhanced my musical knowledge and musicianship skills.
I have studied and worked as a music therapist and a ballet music accompanist. Although I have enjoyed these and is grateful for these experiences, nothing can compare to my love of teaching piano. I have taught piano to adults and children, beginning skill levels through ad
vanced skill levels.
As you or your child's instructor, I will do my very best to cultivate a love and appreciation for music and the arts. I look forward to working with you.

I believe that each lesson should be enjoyable and bring out a sense of accomplishment in each student. I work with all ages and skill levels. I am skilled at teaching many types of music which include: Classical European Music and its many genres and pop music of all eras. I am also trained in working with people with special needs.
I believe in consistent, regular practice. Each lesson is tailored to fit each student. If you are a beginning student, I will teach you to the basic skills of piano music, such as hand placement, scales, reading music, etc. If you are an intermediate through advanced-skilled student, I will work on enhancing what you already know and work on higher-leveled music. In addition, with all of my students, I would also add to my lessons special goals for yourself that you may have.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have amassed a collection of music books that would be relevant in teaching students of various skill levels. I expect my students to provide a piano if I will travel to their home.

About Michelle
Classical performing and recording artist Michelle M. has openings for flute students of any level, from beginner to advanced. Michelle has performed worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician. As a teacher, she focuses on learning skills correctly from the beginning, with emphasis on good tone production and healthy body mechanics. She also works with high school students preparing college auditions, and has regular recital opportunities for all students.

"I love teaching private lessons. It's so much fun watching students grow musically and emotionally! My teaching style emphasizes learning CORRECTLY from the beginning, so that bad habits don't form, such as bad posture which can lead to pain down the road. I also pick music which the students know and enjoy, so that playing daily becomes a fun ritual for them.

"Learning mus
ical skills such as theory, composition and improvisation are also part of my teaching style. These things strengthen a student's overall musical knowledge and enjoyment. I also highly recommend that students listen and watch flute performances, either recordings or live concerts.

"Of course, the best part is playing, and I encourage all students to perform as much as possible, whether in my student recitals or in outside concerts. I offer many opportunities for performance, and help prepare students for their own band or orchestra concerts as well."

Paul does a great job of balancing the theoretical and applied. He focuses on developing strong fundamentals and good habits but also delves into songs that apply new skills learned along the way at the appropriate pace. As a beginner, Paul has helped me get off to a good start where I'm learning a lot but also having a lot of fun.

A big plus is that he's got a real down-to-earth personality that makes the lessons even more enjoyable and really interesting to talk to about all things drums and otherwise.

He has modified my son's lessons through the years, as his goals and needs have changed. Paul has always been professional, reliable and enthusiastic. He genuinely seems to enjoy what he does, and as a bonus, Paul is also a really nice guy, who has had a positive influence on my teenage son's life.

About Brayden
I began my musical journey at the age of 7, when I received my first drum kit and was enrolled in drum lessons by my parents. Though they themselves were not musicians, they were supportive of my interest and eventual obsession with music from the very beginning, which is something I will always be thankful for.

As you may have guessed, I continued to make music and even went on to learn more instruments, including the guitar, bass, piano, and vocals. I didn't know it at the time, but learning all these instruments and understanding how they interact with one another in a band setting was ultimately setting me up to become a proficient musical arranger and songwriter.

During my college years, I was frontman for a band called 'The Skariginals,' which was a family-friendly ska band that ended up being the outlet for a lot of my son
gwriting efforts. In 2014, we were lucky enough to make it on the Vans Warped Tour and play for crowds of thousands of people.

In 2016, I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.A. in Music Industry Studies, a program which not only emphasized an understanding of recording technology and the music business, but also focused highly on promoting musicianship and music theory comprehension.

Following graduation, I have continued to work in live audio, namely as Audio Visual Coordinator of Associated Students Inc. at Cal Poly Pomona. In this position, I supervise a team of 6 student audio visual technicians, which has allowed me to realize my potential as a mentor and educator as I help to develop my student's skills in audio and visual technology.

I am looking forward to prospect of dedicating more of my time toward helping others begin or continue their own musical journeys. I can proficiently teach drums, guitar, and bass (though we may use the piano to discuss music theory).
I have all the necessary gear to teach these instruments in my home, so in some cases you may not even need to bring anything to your lesson! I am also open to commuting to your own home if this is more comfortable for you or your child.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my profile, and I hope you will consider taking your next drum, guitar, or bass lesson with me!
