I work with the student to develop a curriculum based on their musical interests and my own teaching pedagogy. I strongly feel that for musicians to own their education, they must have a say in what they play. Assigning method books and mindless etudes to practice doesn't have nearly the same effect asking them "Ok, what kind of music do YOU like? What do you want to PLAY? What do you want to LEARN?".

I believe that students learn best when they are invested in a subject, and the best way to get them invested is to individually get to know each one, speak to them on their level, and get them playing music they're interested in.

About Jon

I'm a professional performer, educator, and recording artist. I received my Masters in Music from New Mexico State University, and my BA and BME from the College of Wooster in Ohio. Students can expect to improve their technique and performing repertoire within a matter of weeks. We will collabo

I have been teaching saxophone professionally for 7 years to beginners just starting out, students preparing for college auditions, and adults trying to get back into playing. I am a very passionate musician and person, and find happiness in helping people get better at the saxophone and playing music! I enjoy performing regularly in the Los Angeles and greater Los Angeles areas at venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, and The Blue Whale Jazz Club. If you are looking to make your first sounds on the instrument, or looking to develop the skills to be a masterful performer and improviser, please reach out to me as I would find great joy in helping you accomplish your goals.

About Jordan

On top of being a professional musician and educator, I am a fun, easy-going, and inspirational person. This is especially intended to students that know very little about music theory. We will do a lot of games to gain the experience part very well inside. The we will transport this inner knowledge to the theory and reading. We will also work using this theory with your instrument so you can relate your knowledge better.

Cecilia taught 2 of my children for four years, and as a musician myself I can wholeheartedly recommend Cecilia as an outstanding violin teacher for both beginners and advanced students. She is an incredibly passionate and dedicated teacher who is always fully prepared and focused for every single lesson. She always has a plan for what comes next, and she systematically teaches in a very clear and organized way that is easily understood by the student. She is always adapting and responding to the needs and temperament of each student. She figures out how to motivate and bring out the best in every student. She demands excellence and high standards, and yet always shows compassion, patience and love for everyone. Cecilia is a very special and passionate musician who is fully dedicated to teaching and sharing her passion of music with everyone. You will be in very good hands with her!
