In the digital age many people tend to think that if you learn ‘animation software’ then you will automatically become an accomplished animator. However, nothing is further from the truth! Computers can only make things easier for you to do, once you know what you need to do. But if you have no skills or knowledge to bring to the computer, it will not fill in the blanks for you. So, regardless of what kind of animator you want to be – i.e. 2D, 3D, Claymation, Stop-frame or whatever - you absolutely HAVE to learn the ‘core principles of movement’ BEFORE you study the technology.

I'm Mr. Joey and I love art and I love teaching art! I am a graduate of The Art Institute and an artist and animator that creates art in pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and digital mediums.
I recommend that classes are *at least* 1.5 hours (and I really recommend 2 hours!) because that's what's needed to critique homework assignments, warmup, and do the work for the class, and not be rushed.
