Gary's just fantastic. He has the knowledge and the attitude that makes learning both effective and fun. He's working with me to help learn the kind playing I want (mostly modern songs) but knows when to reach for other material to help learn important techniques.

VOICE - PIANO - GUITAR
For over 30 years, Steven B has been successfully teaching hundreds if not thousands of students on voice, piano, and guitar. He has over 60,000 hours experience as a teacher, musician, and performer. He is one of the best piano and voice teachers! In teaching voice, Steven B uses methodologies of Bel Canto, Alexander's technique, and the secrets of singing. Broken down, singing involves three areas: mind, technique, and performance. There are many technical concepts to train in singing. It's all fun from vowel shapes, to understanding consonants, to landing gently on high notes. Great technique leads to great expression. The chief purpose of singing is to bring oneself joy. Sing great and bring other people joy! Recently one of his voice students got a standing ovation.

Because it was online I thought it would not be as good as in person. But, I was blown away by how engaging a teacher Mr. Mendez is! My child was very excited and motivated to keep playing and practicing.

Although Luis is a good teacher, he has difficulty keeping appointments. His home life interferes with his lessons. Every lesson we had needed rescheduled. Finally we agreed on Fridays and then he rescheduled that one. He doesn't give 24 hr notices as required. So great teacher, but no business organization.
Tim G.
I really appreciate Luis for the practice he's given me. We worked on lyric analyzation and flow. We focused on speeding up the meter to work harder in performing faster. I have become better with expressing my vocals in a volume where I can sing a long with the music bed. I highly recommend Luis for anyone who is working on improving their vocal training.

I have been taking singing lessons since I was 7 years old and understand the importance of developing a solid technique. I majored in jazz voice in college but am versed in all styles. Singing to me is the expression of the soul and I love to help others develop their voice.

About Glynis

Glynis has been reading music since before she knew how to read words. Her mother started teaching her piano lessons at age 3, and she started taking voice lessons at age 7. She learned from an early age to practice every day. She has taught all levels and ages of piano and voice for many years. Gl

If I could give Glynis 10 stars, I totally would - she is an AMAZING instructor. I had absolutely zero singing background, no singing experience, and I never had a vocal coach before. Glynis is so knowledgeable about music, and she expertly guides even the most inexperienced to open their voices and produce beautiful sounds! Her trained ear was able to perceive exactly what aspects I needed to work on, and she gave the perfect exercises to help me expand my vocal range, help me sing in a comfortable & healthy way, broaden my singing repertoire, and one of my favorite things was she introduced me to the world of vocal improvisation! She is pleasant, patient, and just the perfect teacher! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Learn to move through vocal exercises with ease while crafting your voice, tone, and style. But most importantly, learn to take your voice and turn it into SONG. Singing songs is where most of my training has come from and I’m a firm believer that singing the tunes you love will teach your voice how best to interpret notes, follow intervals, explore dynamics, and gain control. Don’t just sing, PERFORM.

Please disregard my earlier review. I was in Mama Bear mode and after having discussed the matter with Aubrey, I retract my statements. The only suggestion I might make is that she check in with the students about how they felt about their class today? I know time is limited and this would be easy to do in a perfect world. I truly appreciate the way she reached out to me and my child to explain the misunderstanding after the fact.
Hunter
You kept my child muted almost through the whole class, even while he was singing and you paid little to no attention to him at all. He was excited to learn dynamics as a singer and you CRUSHED him. I used to teach private violin and I would never have acted so unprofessionally. You practically made him cry. This hurt us both.

Aubrey is an absolute gem — kind, professional, intelligent, funny, focused, and fiercely dedicated to her craft. Highly recommend!!

Amazing with my 10 year old daughter
Tracey
We met Katie a few months ago and we’re so glad we did! She is kind, compassionate and patient. She has taught my daughter how to expand her vocal range and she is helping to boost her confidence by encouraging her to perform on stage. I really feel that my daughter has greatly improved since she started lessons with Katie and I know she’s only going to get better with Katie as her coach. Finally I just have to add that Katie has a beautiful voice. The first time I heard her sing I got chills and when she sang at a group performance I actually got teary eyed. Her voice moved me because she had so much emotion and that’s exactly the kind of coach I want for my daughter.

Mrs. Sherman is a wonderful music teacher. My daughter started in her class at preschool when she was 2 years old. She was shy and timid but Sherman’s music class really helped her shine. She loves singing and playing the piano! She’s got amazing rhythm and Sherman really helped bring that out in her. Sherman has such great talent and the teaching skills to go with it. She’s great with children and it shows much she enjoys what she does

Learning Singing Technique in Chula Vista and Greater San Diego

By Alessandro G. - Chula Vista Singing Instructor

Singing, a massive pillar in the foundation of music, has long been one of humankind’s sweetest and most joyous forms of expression. With all the multiple ways for people to share their vocal talent nowadays, such as YouTube and SoundCloud, the past decade has seen many people rise to fame through these new portals of discovery - so singing is definitely a worthwhile talent (not to mention it can sway the heart). The human voice is our natural instrument, and some of us have the gift to use it and share it for the delight of others. Your voice acts like a muscle that needs to be trained and fine-tuned, so that it may yield desirable results.

While taking singing lessons in Chula Vista, you have truckloads of options when it

...

comes to developing your vocal talent. In addition to your private singing lessons, we have fantastic music programs at San Diego State University where you can focus on voice technique first, and then specialize in a particular genre that can most benefit your natural talent and spirit. If you’re looking for traditional classroom learning at a more modest price, check out the local community colleges such as Southwestern and Grossmont.

Nevertheless, nothing can top private lessons when it comes to singing and voice technique! And, it is something you will need even if you decide to make it your line of study. There is a huge selection of private voice teachers and specialized institutions all up and down Chula Vista and the greater San Diego County, where you can get a more personal, hands-on approach to develop your vocal skills.

Another major factor to consider while taking singing lessons in Chula Vista is the selection of fantastic performing venues that exist in San Diego, such as the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, which hosts premiere concert tours and seats over twenty thousand people. There are also romantic performance spots in Coronado Island with a backdrop of the harbor and downtown. Recently, we have had The Fray and Train performing at the Sleep Train Amphitheater and The Rolling Stones performing at the Petco Park Stadium in Downtown San Diego!

It is always good to learn singing and voice technique in places where there are lots of performances going on, for there are many choices for voice teachers where the music scene is rich. We also cannot forget the importance and value of going to performances to study the techniques of the veteran performers live. You get a great idea of proper stage presence, and how to incorporate your own style into your performance, as well as other factors, such as tone and posture.

Now, the key thing you will have to consider is where and how you will practice stretching your vocal chords in front of a live audience. As I mentioned earlier, there are dozens of great venues in Downtown at venues such as Cafe Zucchero in Little Italy, The House of Blues, The Hard Rock Cafe, Moonshine, The Omnia Nightclub, and the list goes on and on and on. Even venues such as The Tavern in Pacific Beach, that offer open mic nights and karaoke, are a viable option to get some practice outside your singing lessons in Chula Vista.

Once you develop your talent while taking singing lessons in Chula Vista, don't hesitate perform at one of the many venues in town, to boost that musical confidence of yours.
