I am a classically trained mezzo-soprano with experience acting/singing/directing opera, choir, and musical theatre. I taught middle school choir and have many years of experience teaching children’s summer camps, as well as visiting high schools and middle school to give private coachings for solo and ensemble. I believe that in order for a student to have a well-rounded musical education, they should have repertoire in various styles and languages, as well as music theory.

Taylor is extremely easy to work with and very talented in her ability to advise and challenge you to grow. She's willing to work with you to define goals and help you get there through actionable practice and advising she's learned throughout her career. An important aspect is capturing the reason you need music in the first place and she goes beyond just being a voice teacher and into being a coach/partner to help you achieve your unique goals with music. I've become more confident with my singing which she is able to help me understand requires different skills than just direct vocal practice. I'm excited to continue to learn from her!

It's a joy to get to help students grow towards their full potential and deepen their love of music. Teachers in my life have been especially important to my development into the musician and person I am today. I strive to help my students develop at their own pace through dedication, deep listening, and exploration. The voice is a direct connection to who the singer is and what they feel!

I have been performing in a variety of musical settings (large cover bands, solo shows, jazz trios) for the past 10 years. I am beyond grateful to have been able to study with wonderful vocalists, musicians, and artists, (such as Jamie Leonhart, Nick Hakim, Kevyn Lettau and LaTanya Hall to name a few), focusing on aspects of vocal technique/freedom, ear training, theory, songwriting, guitar and piano. My specialties include original music (songwriting), Jazz, R&B/Soul, and Pop. It is a passion of mine to help musicians, singers, and songwriters strengthen their own unique voice.

It is my goal

With her patient understanding and calm presence, Crystal Rose is a very engaging and positive music teacher. What originally started out as guitar lessons has grown into a deeper exploration of music through voice lessons and songwriting. I fully credit this expansion of both my guitar playing technique and my musical creativity to her skills as a teacher. After each lesson I feel inspired and excited to keep practicing what I have learned as it carries me over into my week. I am so happy to have found her and highly recommend Crystal Rose as a music teacher.

One of the best teachers I have ever had! Chad creates an environment that makes you feel really comfortable with exploring yourself as an actor. Not to mention that fact that he is so kind and genuine. I know I will be forever grateful that our paths crossed!
Claudia
I have worked with probably 4 dozen acting instructors, coaches, directors in my life, and Chad is the BEST OF THE BEST.
Through several years of working with him, I can vouch that with him you always know what you get: 100% quality, all of the time. He is fully present, meets you on eye level, is kind and understanding, and encourages/motivates you to go beyond what you thought was possible.
Whether it is audition prep, Shakespeare scene work, or general acting skills, there is nobody I would trust more than Chad to help me be the best actor I can possibly be.
Most importantly, with Chad I have always felt completely safe to explore characters, inner movements, and feelings in the process.
The only bad thing I can say about Chad is that he will absolutely ruin you for the next coach or director that comes along, since no one can come even close to his quality.
Katie
Chad is incredible at making you feel very comfortable while also challenging you to go beyond what you believe you can do. In every environment that I have worked with him, he has been kind, generous and inspiring. I would recommend him to anyone (young, old, beginner, advanced) in a heart beat. It has changed my life and my career to have learned from him.

"I have experienced improvement in my confidence after 5 lessons with Arlys as compared to a decrease in confidence after working with another instructor for near one year (not a TL instructor). I now realize the ability to sing and play piano does not automatically equate to the ability to teach and most especially, the ability to teach someone who was not born a natural singer (such as myself). Arlys is that instructor that embraces where you are and understands the anatomy of the vocal instrument and the science behind making beautiful music (no matter your skills or lack-of). Arlys brings to the table a multitude of experiences that support her teaching style and learning for students with diverse singing backgrounds or no singing background. In a recent session with Arlys, I was introduced to "rock star monitor" which after incorporating it into our lesson, was a boost to my confidence and performance. Arlys is one of my favorite 5 instructors and the only one I am working with one-on-one at this time. I look forward to each lesson and hope she will continue with this teaching platform for a long time to come."
