My lesson plans are designed to be musical and fun. I want my students to understand the language of the music by studying their favorite bands and understanding the theory behind it. I have a strategy for everyone starting from beginner, intermediate, to advanced. I remember picking up a guitar for the first time and what a struggle it was to play my favorite songs. There is a method for achieving these goals and it is different for everyone. The one thing that will allow you to succeed is having a desire to learn and a passion for music. If you have those two things then I can direct you to the right path to achieve your musical goals!

Steven has been working with my daughter in piano and singing. The first lesson he discussed with her what she'd like to achieve, and they set goals for them to work towards, which I love. My daughter really enjoy's working with Steven and practicing piano is no longer a chore for her. He's teaching style is a great fit for her, and in 4 weeks she's learned more from Steven than she has from other instructors we've had. I have no trouble recommending Steven.

I would like to say Steven was an amazing piano teacher for my 5 year old and he really was able to teach him a lot of the basics and some neat tunes. He is great with kids and with my child being 5 and needing a lot of patience it was really a breeze for Steven to teach and keep his attention during the lesson. He is definitely a natural at what he does! I am very satisfied with Steven and his style of teaching. He is a well deserved five star rating and I can not wait till my son gets to start guitar lessons with him in the future.

In my guitar instructions I always use methods where the student will not become bored, as I combine songs the student likes to learn, and songs I feel would be beneficial for the student to move on to the next level, and at the same time teach the theory behind the songs. I tailor each student differently with their needs and I do use a few instruction books which are mainly Mel Bay books, as I feel they are some of the best books out there, and he was my personal teacher when I started out. I also have a portable Pro Tools system which I sometimes use for recording lessions etc., which is very helpful, and can teach students recording techniques if they wish. I write original music for TV ads {jingles} which is called "Score To Picture". I have had many national and regional TV spots to my credit. I also can teach Score To Picture as I have lectured on this at the university level. I have taught for many years on and off and I enjoy it very much. I have played on major label ...

About Ralph
Ralph B

Thank you for viewing my profile for guitar instruction.
I also can teach and help with composition and "score to picture"using Pro Tools software. Please see videos in the photos video section for my national and regional original music tv ads.

The band I currently record guitars for {A Bad Think} has been placed on the 2017 Grammy ballot for "Best Rock Song", and the 58th 2016 ballot by the Grammys for "Best Music Video" with the new video "Save Us All" {see below}, which was added by MTV. In 2015 the band was on the Grammy ballot for " Best Rock Album" " Sleep" by A Bad Think.

I was born in New Jersey, and soon after moved to St. Louis where I began to play guitar at age 6 at the Mel Bay Studios from Mell Bay himself, and later from the person who taught him to play. Afte
r attending music school for a while, I moved to a recording studio in Houston Texas, where I was a session player and learned the art of recording and producing from major label producers and engineers. During this time I recorded on albums for Freddy Fender as well as other pop acts, and started my publishing company with BMI. After which I moved to Milwaukee where I meet John Tanner, an original music jingle writer, and worked with John on his projects as a guitar session player, singer, composer, audio engineer and producer.

In the middle 90's I meet up with another singer songwriter Noel Crowder during a jingle recording session. We discovered that our voices blended very well together, and decided to write and record music together. We soon added a drummer Steve Comeau, and started work on our first album which we released on our own under the band name "Feet Of Clay". During this time I met up with Stacy Heydon who was David Bowies former guitar player and a gold and platinum awarded producer, and started to play guitar for his production work with groups he was producing.

After a favourable review in Billboard Magazine, Feet Of Clay signed with a record label that had worldwide distribution through RED {SONY}. With the help of our newly acquired manager John Lay, whose English managerial team included The Police, Squeeze, The Greenberry Woods, Love Nut and Feet Of Clay, we soon completed a new album which was released worldwide via the Sony distribution system and received AAA radio airtime around the United States, Canada and Europe .

After our record deal, I resumed my session playing and private guitar instruction along with live performances in musical theatre. It was at this time I began composing, recording and performing original music for national and regional TV and radio ads on my own, as well as music for film including a Katherine Heigl movie "Side Effects", released on Warner Brothers, and became more involved with the Recording Academy, of which I am a voting Grammy member as well as being a guest speaker at the university level on the music business, score to picture, session playing, recording and music publishing.

I have recently moved from Wisconsin to Kingwood Texas with my wife in search of a warmer climate leaving behind our horse farm. My interests are animals, especially horses, history, science and anything pertaining to music with an emphasis on helping young artist within the Recording Academy with my Grammy voting member duties.

Guitar Instruction Technique

Check out the video that has been added to MTV that I play guitars on below.

In my guitar instructions I always use methods where the student will not become bored, as I combine songs the student likes to learn, and songs I feel would be beneficial for the student to move on to the next level, and at the same time teach the theory behind the songs. If the student shows interest in recording and or composition I will also teach those as well, as I have an extensive recording background. My styles are pop, rock, alternative, folk and a little country for the most part, and I enjoy teaching children just starting out and intermediate players but have had students performing at a higher level. I also bring a portable Pro Tools recording system with me for recording performances. But most importantly I like to keep the lessons fun and interesting and tailored for the individual student, as that's what music is all about.

"Billboard Magazine" calls the music of Milwaukee-based band Feet Of Clay, "Knowledgeable musicianship working together with skilful songwriting, breathy vocals, aching harmonies and irresistible melodies.

Secured international/national recording contract via RED/Sony with Feet of Clay.

Critically acclaimed articles/endorsements in internationally recognised music magazines including Billboard Magazine, Boarders Books as well as Music and Pro Sound News magazine.

Wisconsin Area Music Awards nominations including Best Songwriter and Guitar Instrumentalist.

Scored, preformed and recorded original music for the Katherine Heigl movie "Side Effects" released on Warner Brothers.

Voting Grammy member (Recording Academy}.

Ralph is the best kind of instructor! His knowledge of the history of the guitar is amazing coupled with patience for the beginner student. However what moves him over the top of a typical instructor is his true "can do" encouragement he gives to his students. It's apparent he truly enjoys the challenge and rewards of teaching.

I started taking guitar lessons with Barry shortly after I inherited an old vintage Martin that has been in my family for a while. I had not played in nearly 25 years. Barry's patience and creative spirit enabled me to begin really enjoying playing again. He actively listened to what I wanted to achieve and concentrated on those skills that have taken me to another level. After just a few lessons, I now play better than I ever could in my younger days. I highly recommend him for both a coach for experienced musicians and a teacher for those beginning to experience the joy of playing guitar.

About Luis
Hey guys and girls!

My name is Luis Torres and I teach acoustic and electric guitar to students ranging from beginner levels up to intermediate experience in styles such as Rock/ Pop/ Jazz/ Blues/ Indie/ Acoustic Fingerstyle - Singer Songwriter/ Metal/ R&B and Funk. Don't be shy in beginning to learn the guitar even if you think you're "too old" or "think its too late for me!" I like to say its never too late to learn!

I have 10+ years of experience of the guitar from starting off as self taught up to the point where I decided, "I want to take my playing to the next level!" I later then got in contact with professional musicians who have studied at Musicians Institute and USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles ( Zane Carney and Travis LeVrier) to study more in depth of the mandatory fundamentals and improve my techniques to g
ain better hand dexterity.

If you need help with getting your scales down and memorized, how to practice your rhythm and timing with a metronome, playing your favorite blues licks, understand the importance of chord progressions and how to use that as a tool to make your own songs, I can easily say I am the man for the job!

I hope to be your instructor in the near future!

Experienced guitar instructor with over 7 years teaching. Degree in Guitar Performance with an emphasis in jazz and classical guitar and Music Theory from the prestigious Samford School of Music.

Music is a universal language. It is the one thing in this world that connects us all. My desire is to shepherd that passion that I hold so dearly into the next generation of musicians. Whether you want to learn the soaring riffs of guitar greats like Jimmy Page or Brian May, the melodic grooves of Eric Clapton, John Mayer, or Joe Bonamassa, or the classical stylings of Bach, Mozart, or Vivaldi, I promise you'll be surprising yourself with how quickly you'll pick up guitar.

Maybe you're looking for more formal training. In addition to learning guitar, all my students will be diving deep into music theory, sight reading, and the history behind it all. I believe it is essential to the success of a musician to know the whys and whats behind everything they're playing.

About Matt
I have been surrounded by music since I was born. My father is a worship pastor and my mom was the church pianist growing up. In addition, my brother is the best drummer I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. Music is engraved in my soul. My parents got me involved in piano and theory lessons at a very early age and that transpired into a passion for music that I could not escape! I hold a degree in guitar performance with an emphasis in classical and jazz guitar and a degree in worship leadership from the prestigious Samford School of Music.

I have performed in small cafes to large concert halls playing a variety of music from classical and jazz to today's top radio hits. After working with some of the biggest names in christian music like Vertical Worship, Kristian Stanfill, Lincoln Brewster, and All Sons & Daughters, I am now on
staff at Current - A Christian Church in Katy, Texas as one of their worship and creative arts pastors.

I have had around one hundred students go through my curriculum since I began teaching in 2010. I have a passion for teaching and seeing people succeed at the instrument that I love so much. I can teach someone how to play today's top hits just as easily as I can teach them how to play Beethoven.

In addition to just playing music, I love writing and producing music as well. I am a professionally trained audio engineer and Ableton Live trainer. Getting in the studio is my escape from the world.

My ultimate goal is to see the passion I have for music carried on in as many people as possible. Contact me today!
