In the years since high school, Dwight has kept up with my son, even though he chose a non-music career path and a life in the north east. We will be forever grateful for Dwight and the influence he has had on my son in particular, and, for his influence on the whole family for deepening our appreciation of beautiful music. Thank you, Dwight!

Hello! My name is Josh, and I am an experienced player of 10 successful years. Throughout my career, I have gained experience and wisdom from some of the best teachers in the country, and consequently I’ve been able to perform in prestigious ensembles and place in international competitions. With my experience, I have extensive knowledge of how to significantly improve my students’ playing to an extremely high level, and how to apply my teaching skills to better students in various music-related things like auditions, performances, and fundamental playing. I teach very individualized lessons, with lesson plans always focusing on the student and their needs. Most importantly, I know that the best way to motivate and inspire students is to make them feel empowered and excited to play, which is what I always aim to do with a lighthearted and fun atmosphere. If you’re interested in talking with me further, or want to schedule a lesson, please feel free to reach out!

Bass is really the energy of the band. I have played both upright and bass guitar in orchestras and in bands. It is a very easy instrument to learn and can give you the opportunity to pick your band in so many cases. Some of my guitar students added bass to their repertoire and within weeks have auditioned for and now play in their junior high and high school jazz bands.
After playing in bands for the last 23 years, I have decided to focus exclusively on my passion for teaching. It has been a lot of fun continuing to build a comprehensive music program, which now includes an online platform. Currently, I have over 20 years of music teaching experience and a bac

I am a 22 year old senior music media major (emphasis in trombone) at the illustrious Norfolk State University. I study with the tuba player for the Virginia symphony and had a few lessons with one of their trombonists. I have been playing trombone since 2010, started off on trumpet before then. I play for 2 bands currently, Hot Gumbo Brass Band which is a New Orleans second line band and Infinite Flava which is an r&b group. At Norfolk state I have been in the jazz band, jazz combo, marching band (assistant section leader 2018 and head section leader 2019 for the trombone section), and symphonic band. I am well rounded in all facets of music. From classical all the way to the old tailgate trombone days. I have learned a lot from my mentors and think I am more than capable of getting my students on the right track. I prefer to teach beginner and intermediate, one of the hardest things to teach beginners is the pedagogy, how to make music instead of just playing the right notes. I have

He is a wonderful producer. So, if you are interested not just in learning guitar, but in recording too, he is able to make your sound shine, and teach you how to do it.
I play both piano and guitar, and he helped me a lot to understand the mechanism inside those instruments with theory and musical touch."
There are so many different styles and genres to learn to sing, from classical singing to jazz. Read on for some tips from vocal coach Heather L. about exploring pop music, even if you started out with classical training... This article, however instructional, is a very personal one for me to write. After studying opera and classical singing exclusively for 10 years, I finally admitted to myself that while I still loved to sing, I no longer loved to sing in that style. And while that p …

As a music educator and performer, I’m always interested in learning about new products and tools that can help students succeed. When I discovered the Loog Guitar, a 3-string interchangeable guitar designed with children in mind, I immediately took notice. I was excited to find out more about the Loog because I took guitar lessons when I was 8 years old, and it proved to be easier said than done. The guitar was added to the list of instruments that were uncomfortable for my tiny hands (w …
