We not only teach how to improve your voice but how to teach you to train yourself. We teach simple techniques and how to combine those techniques to bring DRASTIC changes to your voice in as little as one month.
Whether you want to just sound better in the shower or looking to go professional we have the avenue and experience to get you there.

About Gabriel
My name is Gabriel. I have been playing and teaching for over 25 years both piano and Voice. As a Music Major and Christian Education major at Johnson Bible College I not only learned the skills needed to be a musician but also how to teach what I had learned.

As a Student you will find that learning to play and sing can be fun and easy. I always make my lessons enjoyable and I add humor, games and other instruments to enhance your learning experience.

I am both a musician and song writer. I have a great time teaching and work great with both Children and adults. I love it when working with people and that "Light" comes on when they realize "I really learned something." I live for those moments.

I have worked with students of all levels. I even work with children with special needs. So no matter what you would like to
do with your music, play for enjoyment, compose music, sing, for church or professionally I can help you get there.

*** Lesson Details ***
The lessons I teach are fun and educational. No matter who you are I am able to teach you.
I do not teach traditional piano. Why? Because most people are unable to play this style due to issues with eye hand coordination. The Method I teach "Chord Percussion Style" teaches a strong foundation in piano basics backed by a Strong Music Theory base. I have yet to find anyone who has not been able to learn with this method.
For voice I teach natural voice as opposed to Head Voice. This allows the student to learn to sing in a solo or group setting. You will be amazed at the difference a few adjustments can make in your voice. So as you continue your lessons with us you will see constant improvement.
On top of Voice and Piano I can help you learn to write your own music. Using the theory that you use you will learn to start to piece music together.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Keyboard - Roland Weighted Keys
Amplifier
Bongos
Guitar

*** Specialties ***
I teach Chord Percussion Style which is based on the use of chords and strong piano fundamentals and mixed with in-depth Music Theory and percussion technique. Super Fun for all ages!

As a teacher many have described my style as nurturing-but-firm. When I see a student's potential, I make sure that student can attain it. I expect a willingness to learn, a desire to succeed, and a want for excellence. In return, I offer the tools to get the student there!

I know that not every student benefits best from only one method. As such, I employ a variety of teaching tools and methods to best suit each student. Strings students can expect to see a little bit of traditional training, a little bit of Suzuki and little bit of contemporary training. Voice students can see some Sieber vocalizes, some Vaccai, classical, jazz, and musical theater training built on an old-world teaching technique. It's all about giving the student the tools to do whatever he/she wants with his/her music of choice!

On your first lesson, I'll go over the materials needed, what you need to work on, and the very basics so you can immediately get to enjoying your new craft. In a few months, you'll be confident making new music or making better music. Within a year, you should be well prepared for one of my studio recitals!

James has been a wonderful teacher. He has greatly helped me advance in my beginning cello skills by carefully observing, demonstrating as needed, then showing me the things I can do to improve. He does this in such a manner that instead of feeling discouraged, I am even more motivated to improve. I am learning cello as an adult simply for the fun of trying something new. My wife, who played flute on scholarship through college and some professionally has noticed, and commented, on the improvement. In summary, I highly recommend James for both adults and for kids. He just has a great knack for teaching.

Singing is my specialty. As the vocalist for Sony Records band Atom Smash I toured for over 1000 shows and have found tricks to keep your voice up to par while singing aggressively. Most coaches focus on classical methods that would'nt stand up to the modern market of music. Using my methods and coaching your voice will be healthier, more stylized, and you will have the stamina to play 200 shows per year like I have. Im a passionate coach that takes my students under my wing.

I work with advanced vocalists and also have a fun lesson plan for kids as well. All ages and levels welcome. Lets take you to the next level!

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons plan is detailed and I use affective methods such as recording. At the end of every lesson, we video/
record what you need to work on. It doesn't stop with technique, you will learn performance and songwriting as well. A singer will have the tools to create their own custom warmup routines. Music is supposed to be fun and expressive. Let me help you do this at the best level you can!

SINGING: During vocal lessons we will work on the musical style of your choice. Generally speaking, we will spend about half of the lesson working on breathing technique and vocal exercises suited to your style and skill level. The rest of the lesson we will work on applying technique to songs. If you would prefer to only work on technique during your lessons, that is fine too- just mention it!

I am here to teach you at the pace that works best for you! Everyone is different and everyone likes different styles of music- I try to cater to that as much as possible. I will always set the expectation bar as high as you're willing to go.

For piano, when teaching in books, I normally go for the Faber! For guitar, various renditions of Hal Leonard, and for voice, The Rock and Roll Singer's Survival Manual. If you are looking for a top-notch music instructor for voice, guitar, or piano, look no further!
My granddaughters took voice, guitar, and piano from Missy from the age of third grade through high school. I selected Missy due to her experience: classically trained on piano and voice during her formative years, studied at Berklee College of Music, Boston, toured the country as a solo singer/songwriter, and played world-famous and iconic venues, including the late CBGBs in New York City and the Bluebird in Nashville. You can find her on iTunes, and one of her students, Paul Thomas Mitchell (a.k.a. Tommy Mitchell) was on the hit television show, America's Got Talent.
When my granddaughters were young, Missy worked tirelessly to create lesson plans for my granddaughters in order to keep them interested in music. For example, if my younger granddaughter (3rd grade at the time) was unmotivated to practice in her workbooks at home, Missy would spend part of a lesson just talking with my granddaughter about what music she was currently enjoying. Then Missy would incorporate that music into her lesson plan. As a result, my granddaughter became once again motivated to practice. Missy makes lessons fun while still teaching technique.
I never imagined all that my granddaughters would learn and enjoy while studying under Missy. And Missy's work with her students does not end in her music studio. My granddaughters participated in summer band camps and performed at small local venues, all organized by Missy.
Although my granddaughters no longer take lessons from Missy, because they live out of town and are in college, we all consider her a dear friend. She genuinely cares about her students and keeps in touch long after lessons end.

I am a novice vocalist. Missy is fun to work with and talk to. She gives vocal exercises and tricks, but explains the reasons for doing them, how they're going to help. She has allowed me to try a range of different types of music. My voice is getting stronger and better and my confidence is getting stronger also. I look forward to my lesson ever week. Missy is very easy to work with.

Let's sing whatever you like: from pop songs, to Broadway, to art songs or opera with an emphasis on good vocal technique.
30 minute lessons are ONLY for students ages 8 and younger.
Adults are encouraged to choose 60 minute lessons.

About Julie
I am passionate about Music and Music Education. It's rewarding for me to watch my students develop in their musical skill and enjoy making music more and more. My students range from the very young (5 years old) to school age children, to teens, and adults. My students benefit from my expertise in teaching Vocal and Piano music, my knowledge of Music Theory, and my encouraging teaching style. I have been involved in making music since I was a young child, and I have been teaching private students since I was a Music major at the University of Florida in 1982 when a fellow college student asked me to teach her voice lessons. I have a Music Education degree from the University of Florida; my major instrument was Voice, my minor was Piano. I taught as a public school music educator in Florida, California, and Tennessee between the years
of 1983 to 1997. I taught private students after school in my classroom while I was a public school teacher, and from my home since 1997. My post-graduate continuing professional education includes Tennessee Arts Academy at Belmont University, Kodaly Pedagogy and Solfege Level 1 (vocal teaching techniques, do-re-mi, ear training), Orff-Schulwerk Music for Children Level 1 certification, Yamaha M.I.E. (Music In Education) Piano Lab certification. My professionalism and expertise are at your service. I will work together with you to insure an enjoyable and informative learning experience.

*** Lesson Details ***
A typical lesson in my studio would begin with a brief question/answer time with the student to learn how their week has gone, and how their music practice is progressing.

For PIANO LESSONS we begin with Technique including scales and dexterity exercises, then we play from the Lesson book and a Recital selection. I typically let the student play through the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to play the piece again. After that we go over the Theory assignments, and do Ear Training exercises. I am comfortable teaching from a variety of different methods courses. The methods course is chosen according to the student's interest. I never require a piano student to continue using books that are not inspiring. There so many methods courses available, that a student may always be able to have methods books they LOVE.

In my SINGING LESSONS we also begin with a recap of the student's week. Then we continue with Warm Up exercises to prepare the student's voice for the lesson. Then we study Sight Singing and Solfege Singing (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do) to increase the student's listening skills. After that the student sings their selections. Like I do in Piano lessons, I listen to the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to sing the piece again. I am comfortable teaching many styles of vocal music including classical, Broadway, pop, rock, and Christian.

For MUSIC THEORY lessons, the study material is chosen according to the student's interest and age. Topics include notation, chord structure, chord progression, melodic structure, and harmony. I also incorporate Music Listening in the Music Theory lesson in order to learn from the masters in many styles of music. My Music Theory students will also have the opportunity to develop composition and songwriting skills if they desire.

My teaching style is structured and friendly, keeping the student's goals and interests at the forefront. I enjoy motivating students to reach their highest potential.
After 3 to 6 months in my studio my students will see improvement in their musical technique, ear training, music reading, notation, and knowledge. They will be preparing recital pieces for an upcoming performance. I provide three Studio Class performances (February, June, October) and one recital opportunity (December) a year. Most importantly, the student's love and appreciation of music will be growing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
PIANO lessons in Living Room: piano near front entryway, couch, loveseat, over-sized chair, dining room table, open space, end table with chair, parents may sit in on lesson.

SINGING lessons in Recording Studio: keyboard, recording equipment, desk, 2 chairs, music stand, microphone, private room. Parents may wait in adjacent rec room or sit in on lesson.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books, the students should provide their instrument.

I do have a mobile keyboard to bring for SINGING lessons.

*** Specialties ***

Julie is the best piano instructor my boys have had. Her theory based teaching has them learning pieces in record time - and her approach to theory isn't boring. They can now hear a song on the radio, recognize the chords and improvise on their own. She is engaging, encouraging and willing to explore the type of music they enjoy. She adapts her instruction methods based on individual personalities. Your child will not just learn to play piano, they will learn to appreciate music, composers and acquire knowledge that will assist in any instrument they play.

I am currently only accepting students taking lessons every week. I've been teaching private music lessons since 2006, and have taught students from age 4 to 65! I use my classical background and commercial singing experience to help students learn a well-rounded vocal technique that's focused on healthy singing while finding the best stylistic techniques to really help you shine. I work with students who are preparing for auditions, aspiring towards professional success, or want to sound a little better rocking out in their car!

Hi, my name is Hannah. I have a BM in Commercial Music from Belmont University in Nashville as well as extensive experience with popular music, classical music, and musical theatre. I have experience performing live as a vocal artist, singing background vocals, recording, music composition, and, of course, teaching. My goal is to help students feel comfortable and confident while performing as well as to teach healthy vocal techniques across all genres to encourage vocal longevity. I would love to work with you and to help you find your voice!

About Hannah
I am a recent graduate of Belmont University with a degree in in Commercial Voice and an emphasis in Composition and Arranging. I am so passionate about teaching voice, and ultimately, my goal is to return to Belmont for my Master's and to teach commercial voice at a collegiate level as well as to build my own studio teaching lessons. I have been singing all my life, and I would love to help you find your voice.

Music is a wonderful way to convey emotions that can't simply be put into words as well as a great way to express yourself. My goal is to help you build confidence to feel like the best version of YOU and to build healthy, lasting habits so that you might be able to sing or play for your whole life.
