Teaching since:

Hello, I am painter and mixed media artist, with over 10 years of experience teaching throughout NYC. I have taught in K-12 schools, colleges, universities, museums, and community centers. I have taught all ages from early childhood to families and senior citizens. I have most recently worked for The Guggenheim Museum, Lincoln Center Education, The Dedalus Foundation, LaGuardia Community College, and Studio in a School just to name a few. I am a recipient of the Joan Mitchell MFA Award, and recent fellow of the Artist in the Marketplace Program at The Bronx Museum.
The classes I teach are student centered and an emphasis is placed on on material exploration and experimentation while building skills through rigorous but fun activities and assignments.
I specialize in Portfolio Preparation for middle school and high school students interested in applying to New York City's specialized art high schools and or art college and universities. My students have been accepted to LaGuardia High School, Art and Design, Frank Sinatra School for the Arts, Parson School of Art and Design, City College, and FIT.

Rosemary is a dedicated artist and teacher. She worked with my daughter to create her high school visual arts portfolio. Rosemary demonstrated not only a clear knowledge of what high schools were looking for in a portfolio but she knew my daughter as an artist. This helped to guide us in the high school selection process. With her guidance, my daughter is attending AND thriving at the high school of her dreams!
