I am a professional freelance artist, illustrator, medical illustrator, and graphic designer from south Florida. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in Drawing in 2017 from the University of Florida. My fascination with anatomy then led me to pursue my Master’s in medical art from the University of Dundee in Scotland in 2019. I love sharing all that I’ve learned with others so that they can bring their artistic dreams to life! With my formal training, professional experience and variety of artistic interests, I provide a versatile and adaptable teaching environment, all with an upbeat, “can do,” attitude. As the infamous Bob Ross once said: in art, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” For me, art is not about immediate perfection. It’s about the process of discovery, observation, and the development of entirely attainable skills. I aim to bring my students an inviting and encouraging environment, which emphasizes growth and fun in the learning experience! I draw a lot of inspiration from nature, life art, bohemian and cottage core styles, anatomy, astrology, and cartoons like Avatar the Last Airbender. In my art practice, I experiment with a variety of different media and styles. From detailed mixed media anatomical renderings with cosmic and floral elements, to simplified digital illustrations and original character designs, I can help you make a wide variety of artwork, depending on your interests. Whether you want to learn graphite, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic paint, or digital software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I can help you understand the media and learn some helpful techniques in working with them. No matter your skill level or interests, I will work with you to reach your art goals! I’d love to hear what inspires you and where you want to go on your artistic journey, so send me a message to see if we’re a good fit, and let’s get started!

Ny 12 year old daughter loves working with Karli. Karli is very thorough and patient, and always tailored the lesson to my daughter's needs. But Karli was also great as going over the basics and fundamentals, while ensuring that my daughter was always drawing. My daughter learned so much. Also, it was always such a calming, peaceful experience during the lesson, bordering on therapeutic. Karli also has very wide knowledge of different styles and mechanisms. She is a very capable and friendly instructor. Thanks!
