Hello! My name is John Haney and I am a freelance illustrator and educator. As a kid, I always loved drawing cartoons. Now, many years later, I get to draw cartoons that are seen by thousands of people. Some of my clients include Bridgestone Tires, Nashville Arts and Entertainment Magazine, and Cokesbury to name a few. 

One of my greatest joys is helping students to enjoy the art of drawing. I regularly teach classes in Nashville, Tennessee where I live. Kids and adults have found success by "unlearning" what they already know about their drawing skills. Loosening up frees the mind to become more creative. Whether you want to draw professionally or just want to think more creatively, I believe I can help!

John Haney is a good teacher. He has taught me how the business world of illustration works. He has also given me many recommendations on series and illustrators that I can connect with to become a better artist. He helps me to loosen up and experiment rather than focusing too much on being perfect

We had the privilege to met Mr. John ! He is a great artist,  my boys had drawing classes with him and they were so happy to be there learning some skills from Mr. John, he is a kind and fun teacher. They told me how pleased they were with the work they did on those classes, one day my oldest son came home with a portrait of Mr. John and I absolutely love that drawing it really looks like him, so he did a good job with the boys !

My son has been obsessed with John since he read Waffle World and was so excited to get to learn from him! John listened to my son and incorporated his favorite aspects of drawing into the lessons. He was kind, patient, fun and continually engaged my son. He provided specific and explicit ideas, while also supporting and letting my son's creativity run. My son was beyond happy and I was impressed. Most definitely 5-Star worthy!
