Hey! My name is Jason Rafferty. I am a professional fine artist based in Asheville, North Carolina, US. I have been an artist for my entire life, and have pursued classical training in drawing and oil painting since 2010. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting, and have studied at Studio Escalier in Paris, France, The Fine Arts League of the Carolinas, and apprenticed with the master landscape painter John Mac Kah from 2012-15. I share a studio space with John at Riverview Station Studios in Asheville's River Arts District. I have been teaching private classes in drawing and oil painting since 2015, and have worked with a variety of students from beginner to advanced, teens to retirees. I am very personable and am passionate about helping students work toward pursuing their artistic interests and goals. I am knowledgeable about art history and contemporary artists and frequently make recommendations for students to explore new artists. I frequently demo for students and work alongside them, sharing the wealth of concepts that I have received from my various teachers.
