I have been teaching drawing and painting for over three years one-on-one and in groups, both in person and online. I have a bachelors degree in printmaking and oil painting and spent some time in Florence, Italy studying painting and drawing by studying the High Renaissance masters. I have a full time job working in the arts as a fundraiser but teach part time in the evenings and weekends. I love teaching art as a way to connect with other creative people or help a young student grow and become more confident in their art. Through introducing or reviewing the fundamental principles in art and applying those to the lessons and exercises I assign for after class hours, you’ll see yourself improve week after week and gain more confidence in your artistic ability. I create a custom syllabus for you to review and work in things you’d like to try, certain mediums or subject matter to make it more appealing to you. Making art should be fun and restorative! I’m very flexible in meeting your needs and speed at which you want to learn.

I’ve been teaching for over three years and welcome students of all levels! My lessons are all about training your eye and mastering the foundational elements of art so you can draw anything from life our your imagination. I bring lots of practical techniques and old school methods introduced in a modern way that takes into account the interest of my students and keeps the learning fresh and fun.
I often introduce the works of an established modern or classical artist that either exemplifies the lesson of the day or is someone whose work or life story I think my student might find interesting. We don’t just learn how to draw or paint but also learn how to talk about art and make it more a part of your everyday life.
