About Danielle W.

I am very excited at the prospect of helping you in Math or Microsoft Excel. I have always greatly enjoyed Math, and even more enjoy that moment when a difficult concept just clicks for a student. I have tutored Math since high school, and I believe I have a knack for explaining difficult concepts in a straightforward way. I have worked professionally as a tutor while I was in college and graduate school, where I received a Masters in Mathematical Finance. Though math came naturally to me, I spent a lot of time honing my skills on how to explain it to others. Studies have shown that building confidence helps students perform better on math exams, and I aim to build confidence by providing a solid foundation in understanding key concepts, and by sharing test-taking strategies as well. I am patient in my explanations and versatile to match each individual student’s learning style. I have been tutoring for the past year and have enjoyed working with students at a variety of math levels. Prior to that I worked as a manager in the Finance industry for 15+ years. Although not direct tutoring, as a manager I successfully trained many new employees on complex concepts in financial mathematics - experience which I believe will translate to my tutoring practice. I am now tutoring on TakeLesson's platform while I return to graduate school. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you succeed in your studies!
