Everyone can draw. And anyone can draw better. The first step is easy—we just get you making the right connections between your eyes, hands, and mind. Then comes wiring your brain and muscles through active learning and meaningful practice over the long term. As an instructor, I will give you exercises and projects that turn on the light bulbs. The feedback I will give you is two-fold: 1) I respond to your work as a viewer, so that you can learn to see your own work more objectively; 2) I relate to your art making as a fellow learner and share the ways that I have learned. Developing your craft is a lifelong pursuit that sees you continuously growing as an artist. I have found that my beginning students, without exception, get off to a great start on this journey and intermediate students never fail to rapidly evolve.
