All that I request from a student is a desire to learn. I will work with you at your pace to achieve the musical goals you have. Each student begins at a different level.
The first lesson will focus on your musical background. If you are a beginner, that's no problem. I specialize in working with beginning students to teach them all the joy and satisfaction there is in mastering an instrument.
I love to laugh and the lessons are very laid back and fun, but I desire that a student move forward and learn new techniques.
You will be playing simple songs after your first lesson. I'm asked many times by students "how long will it take until I'm good." My answer is: that is in direct proportion to the amount of time you dedicate to practicing. After a month or two, you will know how to read music and have a basic understanding of music theory.
I use various curriculum depending on the student's need. For voice, the curriculum is individually tailored to the students level and ...

Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.
The vocal folds are the core of the sound, and must be given the utmost care and consideration. Proper hydration is essential. They are also muscles, that need strengthening exercises and time for them to change. This will improve your vocal endurance and range. As a highly trained voice teacher, I can hear if the vocal folds are behaving in a healthy and efficient manner. It is essential that your teacher understand how to care for these delicate components of the human voice.
Vocal resonance is how opera singers are heard without amplification. It can be enhanced through awareness and coordination of the various portions of the vocal tract. There are two main components that help magnify the sound. The pharynx, also known as the throat, and the soft palate. Having an open throat and lift soft palate not only help your boost the ...

Hello everyone,
I hope you are very well and keeping healthy during this difficult time.
My Philosophy: To find students passionate to learn the "Bel Canto Opera Technique". Everyone is welcome, all types of voices! My focus is to find the right balance in your voice, through vocal exercise, range, intonation, breathing, appropriate repertoire and of course learning the style of each aria or role. Another goal is to maintain a healthy voice. This may seem easy, however these days we see short careers that don't last long. This is because many singers start singing heavy repertoire before their voices are ready. One must learn to make correct, pure sounds when beginning training. Some young singers try to fabricate a heavy sound to sound more mature. When not ready for the bigger roles, one can destroy the fragile vocal chords of the voice and destroy hopes of a long career in opera.
This and much more you will discover through these lessons.
Hope to see you soon and Happy High ...

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Before I started my lessons with Christiaan I would blow my voice out during extended singing sessions and knew I needed to find a vocal coach with the expertise to help me to prevent permanent damage. He quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses and gave me many tools and techniques I never even thought I'd be capable of.
Christiaan has an amazing teaching style and always brings positive energy to each lesson. He knows how to offer constructive criticism in a gentle way that makes you excited to want to do better.
I'm much more motivated and confident as a singer-songwriter as a result of these lessons and I can't thank him enough for bringing that element to my life."

I was in town for only a few weeks to play a role in a musical production of the Book of Esther. Cosima was there to help just when I needed it! She took me as her vocal student at the last minute and helped me work out some weak areas and insecurities I was having with my voice.
Cosima is knowledgeable and able to see into your voice to help you get right to the issues you are dealing with. Her kind manner and energy helped me feel secure and ready to tackle those high notes and work on other weaknesses. When we were finished I felt as though I'd known her forever and my singing had improved greatly.
I'd recommend Cosima to anyone interested in getting over some vocal issues and to those who are just starting out."

Becky has been both my choir director and my daughter's piano teacher. I hope to be able to take lessons from her myself on day. She is one of the most musically talented people I have ever met. I truly believe that Becky could teach anybody anything!"

Sight singing practice is an excellent way to round out your skills as a vocalist. Here, Saint Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares the 10 best songs to get started with... Every student who attends, despite his or her major or instrument, must sing for four years in the college's professional choirs. Though many organists and pianists are annoyed at first, th …
